View Full Version : Would Friday the 13th Part 5 have been better received if...

SPOILER

...the killer was actually Jason Voorhees and not Roy Burns?

I'm trying to nail down exactly why this is considered the least favorite Friday.

Personally, I think it still would have sucked even if Jason really was the killer. But that's just me.

Yeah, it's as if the makers of pt 5 couldn't figure out what to do with Jason (like weather or not to kill him and if so how) so they decided to make a fake Jason so they could actually kill him and have a 'completed' movie.

It's the same premise as Halloween 3 - it's a crappy Halloween movie due to the lack of Micheal but it's an okay stand alone flick.

Might be controversial but here it is.

I think if Jason had been the killer, this would be one of the most lauded slashers ever produced. A bold opinion I must admit, but I'm sure Jason fans would love it for the obvious, Slasher fans for it's high body count and nudity, and cheese fans for it's inherent unintentional hilarity.

My opinion of course.

Well, The killer's identity doesn't matter much to me so I enjoyed this one, Although had Jason been the killer it would have made the film even better imo.

I would have enjoyed it even if jason was in it or not. It's just like the rest just without jason, i really cant see why people get so iffy about this one, its 20 times better then part 8, but then again, what isnt worse then part 8?

All I remember about part 5 is that chick in the woods with the big tits.

Part 5 is AWESOME. Tommy was a badass and the whole revenge thing was kinda cool to me. I think Roy was a great fill in.

Yeah, I agree with you guys, My point earlier was that even though it's a great film, I would have enjoyed it more had Jason been the killer

To answer Razorblade's question, series fans would have liked it more, but I would have hated it either way.

I completely agree with JASON VOORHEES. Peoples biggest gripe with this film seems to be that JASON isn't the real killer. Aside from that I think this movie is excellent and people would have loved it more. Just a thought. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
