Plot: Eager but accident-prone young executive Tom Stansfield has finally happened upon the opportunity of his lifetime: he can impress his megalomaniac boss and the boss’s luscious daughter, Lisa, by simply house-sitting their lavish mansion for one night. It’s a plan that could lead to love and success, if only THE GUESTS didn’t keep arriving. From director David Zucker (“The Naked Gun,” “Airplane!”) comes an outrageous, fast-and-rowdy romantic comedy about a young man whose quest for the girl of his dreams is interrupted by a constant flow of calamities. One by one, a barrage of wild and crazy visitors take over the house he’s supposed to be watching and turn it upside-down, as well as inside out.

It's weird that the trailer for this movie is out already and the movie doesn't come out until August 22nd. It was originally set to come out February 28th, but then it got bumped SIX (!) months to August. This is not really a good sign. Incidentally, it's gone through a bunch of title changes too, from "The Guest" to "The Guests" to "The Boss's Daughter" (upcomingmovies.com still has that as the title, but clearly from this trailer they've decided on "The Guests").

If the movie's already finished and sitting on the shelf, I don't know why they can't release it February 28th. Maybe they didn't want to compete with "Old School", or they figured they didn't want to release it so soon after "Just Married" with Kutcher. I think they should probably capitalize on the popularity of "Just Married", which surprisingly did some good business its opening weekend. From the trailer, this movie looks about as good as "Just Married" (which is to say not very). At one point, David Zucker was a very talented comic director, but his talent seems to be going to waste here.
