Great casting choice. Sam Raimi rocks, and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN will kick ass too.

Oh, and a sidenote: I also like the fact that the Spidey movies are keeping it down to one villain per movie. The only super-hero movie which worked with several villains that usually don't belong together was BATMAN RETURNS (X-MEN doesn't count, as it's all about teams). But look at BATMAN FOREVER and BATMAN AND ROBIN and their three bad guys each...this is definitely a sign that the people making THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN know their shit.

Don't know who he is?
So my excitement for the sequel aren't changed.

Very good choice. Ive seen pictures of him with his hair cut nearly like doc ocks and i must say he really looks the part.

What i really want to know is if there is any truth to Bruce Campbell playing Doc Connors(The Lizard)...

This is interesting. He normally wouldn't be my first choice, since most of the exposure I have of Ock is from the cool FOX cartoon series of Spider Man

I was really hoping for Sam Neill to get that role, to me he just screams Doc Ock. Oh well, I guess not every casting choice is going to work in my favor.

I think he's a great choice, and it's awesome that they're looking for actors that can actually act to the movies.

On a sidenote, they've apparantly tossed out the Amazing Spider-Man- title, and are looking for something else to call it instead.

I was a lot happier when I thought Bruce Campbell was playing Doc Oc.

I was hoping that Columbia Pictures would offer this role to Geoffrey Rush, but Alfred Molina is an interesting choice. He does look the part, I'll give the filmmakers that. I'd also like to register that I am sad they got rid of the "The Amazing Spider-Man" title. It was a very nice homage to the comic book, but I just hope THEY DO opt for something other than "Spider-Man II", because that seems so original.

Yea, i think one big time villian is better than three weak guys... Esspecialy in the Batman films, because in Forever and Batman & Robin, Batman had the help from new sidekicks...

I always thought Alfred Molina was a solid actor, so I'm quite pleased to hear this news.

Now, if they can just ensure that the Doc Oc costume will be less cheesy than the Green Goblin, I'm totally sold.

For a short time in the comic Doc Ock did not wear a costume but a white suit and tie much like the Kinpins in DareDevil. I always thought he looked so much more menacing and intellectual with it then with the green spandex.

(I think this was in a 6 part story of Spider man comics where he got adamantium coils and single handedly beat the shit outta the hulk with them!)

What I've heard is that they're definitely not going to call it just "Spider-Man II", and are indeed looking for something more original. Perhaps "Spider-Man Reloaded", or "Spider-Man Returns". ;)

Cool. I love Alfred. Don't know if I really see him as Doc Oc, but I wasn't so sure about Tobey Maguire when I first heard about that and he sure worked out. Anyway, Alfred has surprised me before: Maverick, Man Who Knew Too Little, his bit parts on PT Anderson's flicks, and let us never forget Satipo in Raiders of the Lost Arks. "Throw me the idol, I throw you the whip."

I personally found THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN a nice hommage to the original comic-book...but if they find anything that sounds cooler, I'm fine with it.

After watching Al's performance as Rahad Jackson in Boogie Nights, I'm convinced the man can do no wrong!

He's going to nail Doc Oc.

Oh and Rated R, Sam Neil was an excellent choice.

Alfred Molina is great and always makes good contributions to his movies. Classic roles in Raiders and Boogie. Definitely a good actor and gives off that intellectual coolness that will work for doc oct. He's also about to be in mystery/thriller with Cusack, Ray Liotta and Amanda Peet that looks like a good,c reepy mystery. He might be pretty big by the time the next Spider man movie comes out.

Wow what a great casting choice he looks really great and I hope there are scenes when the doc is runung down the streets with his oct suit climbing the walls. I also a agree that one Big bad guy is better then 3 except in batman returns (which was great). Im really looking forward to this film but i sort of thouight that Frank was going to be the green goblin II getting revenge on spider-man for his fathers death.

oh man I was hoping Sam Neil would be casted as Docter Octopus. He's just was perfect for the part in my opinion. But Alfred is also a very good choice.
