DUST DEVIL is moody and atmospheric, while featuring a villain who is memorable and evil, but human altogether.
It is a great film, livened by being filmed in South Africa.
BE SURE TO GET THE 118 minute(?) VERSION, THE DIRECTOR'S CUT OR ELSE YOU DON'T GET THE ENTIRE FILM. IMPORTANT SUPERNATURAL ELEMENTS ARE EXCISED IN THE 89 MIN. VERSION!
The cut that is 89 minutes is faster paced, but missing content, including some of the connections between te Dust Devil, Ben, and Wendy.
Please go to www.revok.com to order the uncut VHS of this superb Richard Stanley film.
NO DVD RELEASES IN THE WORKS YET! Too bad, but if you want to seek out this film, try the Revok uncut version. For the full experience.
DUST DEVIL is a movie that explores the themes of suicide, isolation, and fate. The characters are few, allowing the viewer to feel the desperation of the Namibian desert through its protagonists and antagonist.
Again, try to get the uncut version, because the 89 minute
version feels like a Spagetti western/ failed serial killer film at times.

Has some very cool moments(including the ending). However the flick does tend to drag a bit. Still worth seeing at least once
