Just had to add this awesome flick to my collection. Made it permanent oh yeah...Its that good.

Our good ol pal David Cronenberg outdid himself this time, with this way cool sci/fi horror flick.

Its about this game programer called Allegra Gellar (played by Jennifer Jason Leigh looking hot as hell) and her security guard Ted Pikul (played with nerdish delight by Jude Law). So Allegras sort of like the worlds greates programmer and she invents this gaming console thats sort of alive.

Imagine if your Playstation or X-box was a living organism and you had to take care of it? That be totally crazy, anyhows thats what happens in this flick here, you plug it in to this portal thing that you have to get made on the end of you spine on your back. You connect it there, and ZooooooooM, your in the game.

Only thing is eXistenZ is no ordinary game....you cant tell your in a game, it feels like real life! Soon the lines between fantasy and reality are blurred and your hooked!

What follows is an insane and totally twisted flick, with awesome performances and good solid mind fuck story.

This ones, a keeper! Quality Stuff! Cronenberg at his mind-bending best!

What do you guys think of this one, cause I for one think its top of the line horror/sci-fi that should not pass unseen by my fellow shcmoes!

What say you? LIke or hate? Favorite Scene? Craziest scene? Let me know dudes and dudettes...:D

Yeah, it's a damn good film - I had heard so much negativity about this film before I saw it, but I don't know what all the fuss is about, I loved it!!

Craziest Scene: Where Jude built the gun up out of eating that sloppy fish-shit.

Favourite Scene: The ending, which was a complete twist - I never figured out who the assassins were and it was a bit of a shock when the truth was revealed!

i have mixed feelings about cronenberg. for about half of his work, i find his sureallist/nhilistic (sp?)/nightmare take on things to be terrifying and amazing. but the other half of his work i feel is cold and detatched, which distances me from what i'm watching. i think "existenz" falls somewhere in between the two.

While eXistenZ is a great movie, it's nowhere near the genius that is Videodrome.

Andrew Tom, Ive still got Videodrome on my "must watch" list. I rented it just the other day, but for reasons out of my control I had to return it without having seen it. Damn it. Ill get it again soon.

Anyhows eXisteZ favorite scene for me was the one in the chinese restaurant also. Cause that chinese waiter looked so freaky! And he was like extremely nice, yet Pikul had to do what he had to do!

I also enjoyed very much Willem Defoes performance as "Gas" the gas station attendant. When he realizes who hes talking to, and realizes shes Allegra Gellar and kneels at her feet...that was also freaky. Good stuff!

I think Existenz is an underrated gem too. Makes me wonder why I haven't gotten it on DVD yet when there are so many places that ofer it dirt cheap.

*makes note to buy Existenz sometime very soon*

Yeah, and you also get that feeling like your in the Twilight Zone or something, specially with scenes like that little mutated lizard showing up.
