I'm replying to Hollywood Report "Rocky VI... Not a joke
The editor noted as saying not again, and how many more fights does the fighter have in him.... I personally am looking forward to this movie, we all dont' feel the way this editor obviously does. Rocky is an icon and have enjoyed watching all of the Rocky series, and I intend to watch this one as well , if it is made. Rocky has alot of message's in it. and its a great film for all ages. It's a classic . Part of history. So just to let you know the hollywood report doesn't speak for everyone out there. Alot of people will be excited to see this film. I would watch a Rocky movie over other sequels such as Terminators and Lethal weapons any day of the week.
Hollywood Reporter, you had your say, this is mine.
Go get em ROCKY!!! :D

Dead horse eh Sccubus...... No it's Eye of the Tiger man!
If you think you could do better and rack in Millions of dollars all the power to you. He must be doing something right huh.
When you have made box office smashes, and known around the world for such a great movie, and made something magnificient come back and we'll talk. Till then only one I see out to pasture is you.
note to Bechara.... I have read on various sites Bechara that Rocky 6 will be much different than 5, and deals with a youth club centre. I'm sure Sly will give great detail and attention to Rocky 6.... I'm routing for it too .. good things to come YIPEE!!!!:)

Leave Succubus alone, Sylvester. She's dead on with her opinion. That horse was dead after part 4. Glue factory time.

He? Do you use that term to describe Rocky as a character? Or perhaps Sly Stallone? Or perhaps the personification of this amazing popularity you speak of? ;) I think the last flower placed on his career's grave was the unforgivable remake of Get Carter.

Give me a couple of years ;) And I'm a believer of quality over quantity. Sequels do not maketh the film.

Yes I use the term above to describe the character. The Rocky films have done wonderfully well at the box office and around the world. No one can deny that. Rocky is a house hold name. This character he brought to the screen has heart, dedication, and a willingness to beat the odds. I'm sure even you can see this.
As far as Sylvester Stallone the person. This is a different discussion in itself, and would be far to lengthy to explain to you here. But it's safe to say this man is intelligent, creative, dedicated, and most of all a warm soul. Sad part is he's usually misunderstood, and some people only see his characters he portray on screen rather than learning about the man himself.
As far as the personification of this man, he is of great quality, and gifted individual. From the creation of ROCKY to a liftime achievement award just to name a few. He is also a writer, director, producer and the list goes on. I'm not here to debate. The hollywood report had there say. And I'm voicing mine. If any of you can see past the characters and take the time to learn about the individual you would be quite suprised. I'm not saying all will enjoy this man's talents or his views, and thats fine we all have our opinions . What I do have a problem with however is false claims when people talk about him , another words bashing the person without getting the facts straight. we could sit here all day and go back and forth on what you like and dislike about any actor or person for that matter. I'm saying Rocky has and always will be a masterpiece and I don't think the man should be out to pasture. He has achieved great heights and has worked very hard to get where he is. Yet for some reason some people like to take a run at him. I say if you haven't walked in the man's shoes don't prejudge and listen to all the crap you hear.
Not all of his movies as someone mentioned have been block buster hits and thats okay I know many other actors who also have not have had block busters. The industry is a cruel business. But I thank him for his movies he has brought to the public. and I look forward to many more. No going out to pasture for him. Many actors never go into retirement. And I don't see Sylvester Stallone doing that either. So say what you like, my opinion will not change about him. But be fair in your opinions as well. just don't fill up the page with nonsense and having nothing to back up your claims. There will always be negatavism in the world . I see the positive of his many talents. and as the old saying goes you can't please everyone. So whether you enjoy some of his films or all, just be fair.

I'm a big Sly Stallone fan anyway, but he really outdid himself with the Rocky series. Most people think of Rocky movies as action movies but don't really realize they are actually dramas. The first two especially. You gotta love all the guys Rocky fights: Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, and Tommy Gunn. Classic charachters in my opinion. Don't listen to all the doubters out their Rocky VI is gonna rule just like all the others have.

I couldn't agree with you more Jango. I also like the work out scenes, leading up to the big fights. I remember being in the theatres, and people going nuts over the fights and standing up and cheering, and clapping when Rocky triumphed. I haven't seen that in any other movie I have been too since.

Ain't It Cool News writer Harry Knowles visited the Austin, TX set of Spy Game 3D Game Over today, and had a chance to chat with one of the film's co-stars, Sly Stallone. While they talked about many things, Sly commented on the sixth Rocky movie and its possible plot....
It seems that Stallone has taken inspiration from George Foreman with ROCKY 6. George after getting whupped by Spinks just sort of walked away from boxing and gained weight, took up charity work, but then one day discovered that the money had run out for the charity and himself, and nobody would give him a loan, his friends told him that the ships had sailed. And he just didn’t have anything anymore. He was an overweight, out of shape, middle aged man of questionable diminished fame. George decided to go back to boxing, mainly small club fights, tiny venues, people calling him a joke, but he was winning, and around that 16th fight, people started to take notice, things began to turn around. Well Stallone wants to basically tell that story, the has-been giving it a run story, but he also has in ROCKY 6 a character that he’s heading towards fighting, a new champ, which represents the modern black athlete which is very different from the Apollo Creeds or Alis of yesteryear. That new generation of Athlete with their posses and hanger ons. And what he wants is a DMX or a LL COOL J type to have in there, that has his own reasons for fighting, his own motivations. Not just some icon of evil that he has to defeat, but someone with their own demons and their own reasons to step into that ring.
Sounds quite good, except the whole "DMX" thing, I don't mind Cool J though!

Wow!!! That sounds really Great dh1989. Thanks for sharing that news with us. I like the story line very much, it shows a person not giving up and determination. Just like the Rocky's have before. Always refreshing to see. So many movies you go out to see and you don't always walk away with a message and be pumped up .When I read your notes I was excited, a very uplifting story line.
The character's motivation and today's generation young and old can relate to this . It sounds very inspirational. And you know the music for the movie will also be awsome.
Can't wait to see this one.

The original poster in this thread sounds suspiciously like a studio shill, but I'll probably rent this one eventually out of curiosity, if it gets made.
I loved the first two Rocky films, and III had it's moments, but after that, it was pretty much tripe. It jumped the shark when the robot was introduced...

This message is for Zardoz... I was the one who spoke out about the Hollywood Report. I know you don't know me from adam. But I honestly am a fan. I have admired him for a very long time . I have chosen to read about the man and learn more about him as a human being and his great achievements, the more I read about him the more I realized how truely special he is.
And of course when I read things such as the Hollywood Report, I see no thought was given into the story. I mean fine you want to be a critic be one. But do your homework before you diss something. This person already is shooting down a film that hasn't even come out yet, and he hasn't seen or given it a chance. And as far as the previous Rocky's they racked in Millions of Dollars world wide and have been one of the highest grossing films . For him to come out with these remarks, tells me he hasn't done any research of any kind. Hence I feel it's important to share the truth with others, and set the record straight.
And most importantly let the people make up there own minds after seeing the film, not some critic who hasn't taken the time to research and do his homework.
A fan:)

Rocky6: Punch-Drunk Money Shuffle
Rocky7: Get Fatter
Rocky8: B-Otox
Rocky9: Need Blood (see, it's like First Blood. Only...not)
Rocky10: Stop, Or My Accountant Will Sue
Rocky11: Oscar's 11
I could do this all day. Short answer - this will be the death knell if he doesn't watch out. They did it Orson Welles, what chance do you think Sly 'Staying Alive'Stallone has?

Jackson 13. I care to respond to intelligent discussions. not these child like answers and jabs.
So if I ignore these statements , thats the reason why.
I think the Rocky series is fantastic . I'm not going to get into a battle of meaningless replys of garbage that someone has taken no thought into . Obviously some people miss the point of the Rocky movies and what they bring to the audience.
there loss. our gain:D

Personally, I couldn't care less. After the train wreck that was Rocky V I have I have no hope for a sequel. If they must make this then all the power to them. I'm not expecting much though. Maybe if I keep my expectiations at floor level I'll actually enjoy the movie.

You've got me all wrong buddy. The first Rocky is nothing but classic, the second close to a classic, the third damn entertaining, the fourth was ok and the 5th sucked. It would be pointless to make a 6th, and the way your pushing it on these boards came across as spam, which we dont enjoy here in Schmoeville. So get off my back, I did put thought into my reply, I put the thought of all the schmoes who feel the same way I do, there is no need for a Rocky 6 and we dont like the idea being force fed to us like spam.

A 6th one? Talk about beating on a dead horse.
Rocky just has to throw in the towel, otherwise he'll be milked and beaten til he's dead. Hey wait a minute...

They'll make a sixth Rocky film for the same reasons that they are making a sixth Star Wars film: MONEY. However, I'm actually looking forward to a new Rocky film. It has to be an improvement over part 5, and I think the first four are some of the most entertaining AND inspiring movies around. Whereas the sixth Star Wars film will most likely continue George Lucas' downward spiral. GO ROCKY. ADRIAAAAAAAN!!! I love you!!!

Exactly Nachokoolaid. The last four Rocky's have been very exciting and entertaining, and inspiring. And you always come out of the Rocky movies feeling energized and pumped up. And there is always a good message to the Rocky films. We don't see enough of that in movies today.
Yo Rocky we love ya!!!!:D
