Anybody ever see these movies, kinda weird horror flicks. I was watching both of em, kinda gross but I thought they were alright.

The first one rocked, but the second one kinda sucked.

I like both Waxworks and have seen them a billion times. The first one is much better than the second, IMO, but the 2nd one is much funnier (I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.) Both films have a fair amount of gore, although I haven't seen the un-cut versions (If anyone has let me know if it's much better than the R-Rated version), and the acting is all right. Definetly check it out if you haven't!

The 1st one is a minor 80's classic, that deserved to get a big theater release, but Vestron fucked up and released the Unholy instead.Un wise decision by them.

The 2nd one is more tougue in cheek and Features cameos by David Carridine,Drew Barrymore,Bruce Cambell,Maxwell Caulfield, and Patrick mcnee. It is enjoyable, but you can see that it is a LOW budget affair.Zach Galligan does a good job and Hickox keeps things moving.

I wonder If we will ever see #3?

WAXWORK 1 & 2 was, an still is a special film to me.

Sure, the acting wasn't iportant, but the emphasis on dry humour, and nostalgia is a mix I welcome in my fave films.

WAXWORK's tone was light, with one of my genre faves David Warner as the heavy, and a good Marquis DeSade episode that was tantalizing.
Zach Galligan, and Deb Foreman are the standouts. Michelle Johnson is okay as Chyna. But the cast doesn't matter. Tony Hickox lets them have fun.

WAXWORK 2 was funnier, less consistency, but the nostalgia is more affectionate (DAWN OF THE DEAD, NOSFERATU, JACK THE RIPPER, etc...) The whole bit set in Medieval times is ridiculous, as was the music, but it was funny. Galligan shows his goofy side.
The lack of Deb Foreman hurt, though.

I love these films.

Yeah, I was watching both of em on SCI-FI and I think they cut out all the good stuff from it, the last part was for sure cut. When Sir Willard I guess got his head twisted off by that monster.

Welcome SWTommy!
I have seen the first one on SCI-FI, and they butchered it!
Still, the gore wasn't the whole purpose, but I didn't get to the Marquis DeSade PART, which is undeniably cut.

waxworks was a really cool film. i loved the whole movie. but i havent seen it in a while. that midget butler guy used to give me the creeps when i first saw the movie.

the sequel isnt as good, but its still pretty damn entertaining. the best part is definantly the part with bruce cambell, where he is chained up to the wall with a very serious injury and he is acting like it isnt even there.
