I was wondering if you have seen any of the following or any other super rare horror movie.
Myself what I can think of is 'Black Devil Doll From Hell' which I found amazingly amusing. and 'Evil In The Woods' which was pure crap, the acting was worse than in well Back Lot Murders, and that is bad! Also some swedish hroror gems come to mind, the horrorspoofs Resurrection Of michael Myers 1 & 2 which are both very funny and Blödaren, a slasher with a guy bleeding from the eyes.

BLOOD BEACH. I hear it's not super-rare, but sort of hard to find on video. And from how the flick turned out, it's all for the better.

Rare ones I've seen

Decampitated: Woods/camp slasher parody from Troma. I give it an A-

Dr. Caligari: very strange late 80's surrealist horror/comedy by a former porno director. Grade: B

I Was a Zombie For The FBI: straight-faced parody of those early-fifties alien invasion movies. Grade: A+

Meat Market: shot-on-video zombie flick only availiable on the internet. Grade: C

Bleak Future: more sci-fi comedy than horror, but it has some good gore and monsters. Think Monty Python meets Mad Max. Grade: A+

Silent Night Bloody Night is super - rare but super - good, too.
The editing is terrible but if you can pass that believe me, it's one of - a - hell good movie !!!
It's a slasher but very atmospheric and very somber, too.
9/10

Deadly Dreams - a rare slasher about a guy who dreams of a killer in a wolf mask

Cassandra - a hard-to-find Australian gem.

thank you troma.

i may never be able to enjoy another movie from them, just knowing they brought that pile of unheard of trash back, hopefully it will get lost in time again, and not many people will see it.

Zombie Ninja Gangbangers, a.k.a. Bangers

I dare anyone to beat that. I found it on some shitty online shop, and when I ordered it, it came in a case that had a cover that looked like someone printed it from a dot matrix printer. 50% softcore porn, 10% zombie, 40% I have no fucking idea, 0% ninja.
To this day, I still have no clue as to what this movie is about.

belial1134
07-29-2002, 01:04 PM
Yah Bangers is a pretty awful flick.

With so many companies like Anchor Bay, Troma, etc re-releasing movies (to VHS and DVD) it's hard to have rare movies.
Last House on Dead End Street is pretty rare as far as an original US print, usually I see people selling a bootleg copy.
Overall though, it is becoming easier and easier to track down flicks that used to be near impossible to find.

Well, I saw a movie from the seventies called "The Baby".

It was about a grown man who crawled around in a giant sized diaper because his Mommy didn't want him to grow up.
In fact, anytime he tried to walk to talk, he would be poked with a cattle prod.

ALSO, I saw this great movie called "The Devil Times Five"...

It stars Leif Garrett at about 8 years of age, and Sorrell Booke, better known as Boss Hogg, from The Dukes of Hazzard.

Garrett and four other kids escape from a mental institution and proceed to terrorize a bunch of moronic adults at a ski resort.

Not only is the child Garrett a transvestite - he kills Boss Hogg by chopping him in the back of the neck with an axe!!!

These are two great, weird, funny movies, I've never know anyone except one other person who has seen them.

How about "The Pit"?

A misfit kid and his evil talking teddybear (which is never explained, BTW) discover a huge pit in the woods with prehistoric monsters living in it! The kid decides to feed the monsters (in one scene the kid tries to drag a cow to the pit), and eventually he helps them escape from the pit!

Really weird old movie (from the 70s), it`s actually kinda good...in a weird way, of course.
Check out the scene where the kid pushes an old lady in a wheelchair into the pit!

Ugh, Frogs was appalling. It could have been a radiant b-movie, but it took itself way too seriously. Has anyone seen The Suckling? I rented it a couple of years ago, and I'm almost certain that I'm the only one who's familiar with it. It had a great tagline. "It'll suck your brains out!!!"

There was a season called Exploitica on British Channel 4 that showed (very late) european horror/sex movies. All of them absolutely awful. a couple that come to mind are.

The House on Bare Mountain: At a girls finishing school a collection of badly dubbed topless girls are chased by one of the least convincing monsters ever put on screen. A truly awful film.

Black Candles: Godawful softcore and satanism movie. You know how bad the actors who dub films are, these people are worse, far worse. The shooting is laughable and the story is less than paper thin. Terrible

The Incredible Dr Humpp (I swear this is the title) A contender for the worst film of all time. A monster kidnaps couples as they have sex. After that as far as i can tell there is no plot just random cutting between 1: A scentist and his assistant 2: Naked people 3: One of the five shots of the monster (Really, this is an 80 minute film and they have 5 shots of the monster which they repeat over and over).

Before each film would be a series of trailers for similar movies, my particular favourite being : TERROR AT ORGY CASTLE.

I swear to you every word of the above is true. I wish it weren't

The Living Dead at Manchester Mourgue has to be one of the creepiest Zombie movies i have ever seen.

World Gone Wild is one the most amusing Mad Max Rip-offs there is.Bruce Dern and Michael Pare make this one work.If its in pick it up.
But do not expect and masterpiece, but just pure fun entertainment!

lol, don't worry, I'll tell you Madman.

LMAO is an acronym commonly used on the Internet. It means Laughing My Ass Off.

When I was first introduced to the world of the Internet, I was very, very confused, because of all the lingo, which I knew nothing about. I don't know if you're not familiar with any of the lingo or just that one, but I'll tell you a couple more anyway.

IMO = In My Opinion
IMHO = In My Humble Opinion
LOL = Laughing Out Loud
ROTFL = Rolling On the Floor Laughing
ROTFLMAO = Rolling on the Floor Laughing My Ass Off

Those are the ones most commonly used on this forum.

Hope that helped.

MGM will be releasing Motel Hell on DVD later this month. However, I found a VHS copy at Media Play. Dark Night of the Scarecrow used to be shown on television on All Hollow's Eve, but it hasn't been aired in a couple of years. Both are great films!

PIECES! A rare film. A super-shitty film, IMO! I found nothing good with this one.

There was also one other film I rented way back when. It was a super-low budget german (i think) slasher called VIOLENT SHIT. My friend and I stopped it 20 minutes into it because it was so horrible.

let's see how about:
Slilent Night, Bloody Night is a awsome one to find.

Funeral Home= a weird "Psycho"-like movie about a old lady and her grandaughter trying to turn a Funeral home into a guest resort. Average movie.

Deadline= Saw this one a while ago about an horror author who because of a deadline starts treating his family like crap. Slightly above average.

Let's see...there's Three on a Meathook (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0069375) - very shoddy and unpleasant grade-z exploitation.

Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0093873) - unwatchable

Nightmare at Shadow Woods (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0085253) - one of those "evil twin" jobs. That's all I can remember.

Killer Party (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0091338) - Canadian horror at its finest, it's your basic college-set slice-and-dice.

Spellbinder (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0096152) - Hey, it's Kelly Preston and Mrs. Roper in an occult thriller!

And, since it's mentioned not nearly enough here: There's Nothing Out There (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0103077) - a.k.a. Scream Years Before Scream Screamed Its First Scream.

"Hatchet for the Honeymoon" 1970
...you gotta love the inappropriate "Love Story"-style music coupled with the truly bad fashions...and so much suspense! Will he kill again? Will his wife come back from th dead? Will his Super-Hold Hairspray give out before the final scene?

"The Ugly" 1997
...this movie is really, really good. I know that plenty of people have heard of it, but it still took me forever to get my hands on a copy...everyone who advertised that they sold it ended up not ever having it in stock...but it's worth the hunt. It's haunting and absolutely riveting...I love showing it to friends who've never seen it.

Luther the Geek--has anyone seen this film. It is very obscure. The killer never speaks a word, just bawks like a chicken throughout the whole movie.
The gist goes as follows--
a boy goes to the circus where he sees a circus geek--who is a homeless alcoholic who'll bite the heads off chickens for a shot of cheap whiskey.
After seeing this, the boy falls, breaks out all his teeth on a stomp.
We then fast forward 20 years where Luther is in an insane asylum. We then get a shot of him sharpening a set of homemade steele teeth where he places them in his mouth. He later is released where he startes his illing spree at a local Krogers supermarket

An ultra rare film which sure is'nt the best but sure isn't as bad as some shit I have seen.

Before Mark Pavia did the Night Flier,he made a short zombie movie called Drag, that was filmed in my Hometown of Lockport,IL.

It was about a woman finding corpses and Draging them home for her Zombie husband to eat,in a zombie wasteland. It had a haunting score, good acting,& make-up.

I got to go to the premeire of the movie back in 1993.It was so cool cuze I met the director and cast of the movie.

If it is ever released pick it up!Has anyone ever seen it?

I surely don't own them, but two of the rarest and most obscure horror movie I have seen would be Slime City, and GoreMet Zombie Chef From Hell. Both are from the same distributor too, Camp Video, they only made and release a handful of films. Both as cheap as it gets, and both no doubt very bad films, but I've seen even more awful so, that's something. I was surprised to see Fangoria have some scrawlings about Slime City and even a picture in an old issue from '87/88 that I bought awhile ago for something else that was in it.
After reading over the thread, I see that Neon Maniacs and The Pit were mentioned. I've seen those two as well, but I don't think they're obscure as the other two I mentioned, Neon Maniacs has even been shown on the Sci-Fi channel twice in the past 6-8 months. And after not seeing the Pit for rent anywhere else for a few years, a local indepdent store does have it for rent, any maybe down the line when there's nothing else to see I'll re-rent it, very strange movie. And in case your reading Elgyn, I wanted to say that I think the whole teddy bear being alive thing was just part of the kid's delusions.

I've seen The Pit and Neon Maniacs. I also saw one slasher called Return Of The Family Man, which I assume to be rare because, for the longest time, it wasn't even listed at the IMDb. I saw another slasher pic called Death Penalty which was one of the worst films I have ever seen. And anybody else seen Moonstalker? Screamtime? The Slayer? Bloodbeat? I rented practically the entire horror section at all the video stores I go to.

More times often than not, these films are rare for a reason - theyre shit - Especially in the csae of
Unnatural Born Killer - done by the same people who did the Zombie ninja Gangbang... well i think so... its got the really cute chick from it tho in a brief appearance... But yeah otherwise it sucks major ball... Id never heard of it before i saw it, and not heard a peep about it since.. All i can remember about the movie was the pain of sitting through 90 minutes waiting for something interesting to happen.. Something else is that the sleeve looked really rad, with some pretty racy lookin scenes of violence, all of which were publicity shots as no one from these pics was in the frickin Movie!!!
Please read up on this flick.. but under no circumstances get it coz it sucks...

As for totally rare flick... Revenge of the Radioactive Reporter!!!

Got it here on my shelf! Errr.. been a while since i seen it tho.. cant remember shit about it...

My contribution to this thread is a no-budget flick called Psychos in Love. Pretty much your standard boy-meets-girl-and-finds-out-they-both-like-to-kill-people story. There's some real over-the-top gore in this one, even though it's pretty cheesy. Still, if you like the sight of red kool-aid spurting out of rubber limbs, it's worth a look for shits and giggles.

I'd never even heard of the flick until I saw a copy in the local mom-and-pop video store a few years ago. But when I saw it... well, how could I possibly pass up a movie called [b]Psychos in Love[b] that had a box cover of a bride and groom on top of a wedding cake with the bride chainsawing the groom's face off?

Would Black Christmas be considered rare now?

I have seen some horror movies htat have faded pretty much into oblivion (at least I hope)
American Gothic
The Last Slumber Party
Appointment with Death
Screamers (the one about people turned inside out and no I am not spoiling it for anyone-that actually was part of the tag line)
Visiting Hours
Don't Go Near the Park
Disturbing Behavior (from way back in the 80's)
The Town that Dreaded Sundown (actually like that one though)
The Church
The Surgeon (this one sticks out because frontal nudity of a male-didn't see that too often)

damn-my mother drug me to the movies to see a lot of crappy horror movies:D

Video Dead- Some kid watches this movie on TV and suddenly Zombies come from the TV and begin to kill everyone. Or something like that. I haven't seen that movie in 12 years! LOL

The Stuff- This movie was about yogurt. Or something like yogurt. People loved eating this crap and it began to kill them. Again, I haven't seen this in years, so I'm not even close to clear on the plot of this masterpiece (sarcasm off).

LOL

I guess I consider them rare because it's been years since I've seen either of them, or even seen them in a video store.

I would not consider any of the following movies people mentioned as meeting the criteria of super rare:
The Stuff (This was cool! I've been trying to get the DVD for awhile, its still not rare though)
Visiting Hours
American Gothic
Black Christmas
The Surgeon
Screamers I've seen around
And Maniac isn't that rare at all, and I wouldn't say its 'great' either.

I've seen Microwave Massacre. Have any you seen it. A guy kills his wife and cooks her in the microwave and eats her. He ends up killing people and cooking them in the microwave. It's really weird.

Yeah man, used to see the case in my video shop when i was knee high... It got withdrawn with the introduction of the VRA around 83-84... But back then it gaven me Nightmares (despite never having seen it!) Still i saw this on Ebay a couple of years back and snapped it up... Sorry, but i was totally disappointed...
The movie was played a like a spoof comedy... which ranks pretty high on the Suck-o-meter...

Cant remember a great deal about it fortuantely, which is usually indication of its suckage...

Still, i think thats the 1st time ive heard of anyone else whod seen it!!!!

I remember seeing this one as a kid with my mom at the movies (probably the first horror movie I ever saw). Not the greatest movie unfortunately.

I actually have way too many to list. I collect the 1.99$ VHS they throw out in the video clubs... and trust me, their is alot of stuff I get there no one have heard about... and alot of extremely rare low budget horror movies. More of a collection then anything else, I don't even have time to listen to everything I have. I buy bulk lot of VHS and DVDs on Ebay too. Here's one title I'm sure everyone heard about "I'll kill you, I'll bury you and I'll spit on your grave too".

I have tons of stuff like that.

I believe the movie could be downloaded here (http://akamai.kolhoos.ee/fraktsioon/toja.html) , but I fear it`s entirely in Estonian.

There also seems to be a sequel or something I`ve not seen myself with an English title.

I own Tourist Trap and Silent Night, Bloody Night on DVD. Both are pretty good for low-budget movies.

I've seen Blood Beach and it was the MOST boring horror movie. I was expecting a slasher with dead bodies piled up on the sand. The cover art is the best thing about the film.

I liked Funeral Home, it was not what I expected by looking at the video box. And don't hate on Dark Night of the Scarcrow, that is an awesome movie!

I've also seen Ben, The Pit, and Day of the Animals.

The USA network and TBS used to air quite a few horror movies that are rare now:

Blood Song---only for those that wanna see 50s beach movie guy Frankie Avalon as a psycho sex murderer. I love this movie and can't find it anywhere.

The Mad Room---it was made in 1968, but it's pretty gruesome for its time.

The Stranger Within

The Uninvited---not the 40s ghost story, but this one is where a radioactive cat kills people aboard a ship and George Kennedy is in it too. Made in 1988 and it looks like it was made for $100.

Death Ship---another one starring George Kennedy. You have to like slow-moving horror movies to enjoy this one.

Dead of Night---a lot of horror movies are named this, but this one made in the 80s is about a woman who becomes possessed by some Egyptian goddess and she kills guys after sleeping with them.

Black Roses---80s hair metal band are Satanists who turn kids into killers. This is crap, I'd avoid it unless you like cheesy metal.

The Children---so many people slam this movie but I like it. It creeped me out.

Eyes of a Stranger---more crime thriller than horror but it gets put in the slasher category.

Cardiac Arrest---I thought it was a slasher, but it's NYPD Blue meets General Hospital, and it's boring. It's called horror though, probably because of the acting.

Home for the Holidays---a TV Christmas slasher, and a pretty good one too.

Body Shop

Popcorn

Deadly Games---boring, skip this.

Sweet Sixteen---an okay slasher, but the story left me confused. The ending is pretty whacked out.

J.D's Revenge---My cable company has a channel made for African-Americans and they always show the blaxpoitation horror movies from the 70s. This one has hardly any blood, no gory SFX, but it was okay and considered a cult classic in the black community. Louis Gossett Jr. acted like he was trying to get an Oscar.

Ruby

Slaughter (1983)

The Night Brings Charlie

Hollow Gate

Edge of the Axe

hehe, no. It's the "unofficial sequel" from Bruno Mattei which is pretty much just a complete ripoff of Aliens and steals complete scenes, characters and dialogue from it.
