I've said it before, and I'll say it now

Moulin Rouge! is an over-stylized piece of art-house shit! And I like artsy movies. If I am ever forced to watch this movie again I will die from agony. I loathe it more than almost any movie in recent memory. A wasted talented cast bastardized by the hack Baz Luhrman. Substance is usually more important than your colourful "style". The usage of pop songs as the musical music just bothered me. LAME fucking movie, that I fucking hate to the ends of the fucking earth. Quite possibly my least favourite movie I have ever seen, yes my tune has changed since I first saw it.

On the other hand I loved Chicago in all it's fantastic glory. Except for Zelwegger, everyone was spot on. Hooray!

Chicago - A

Moulin Rouge! 10/10

Chicago 8/10 or 9/10, I'm not sure yet, just saw it last night. It was great, but still not all I hoped for. (This should teach me never to hype up a film so much for myself again. It's a terrible feeling when you walk out of a great film like this, having had the best time at the cinema in months, and still you can't help but feel just a tad disappointed, just because you expected to fall in love with it instantly and that didn't happen). Anyway, I'll definately be seeing it again, so hopefully then I'll be able to form a more objective opinion on it. This time around, I had such an intense desire to love it that in the end I wasn't sure if I was actually loving it or I had simply hipnotised myself.
