Personally, I think that Almost Famous (10/10) is the best 70s movie I've seen. You?

Almost Famous is a brilliantly evocative portrait of the times. Boogie Nights captures the era in rather spectacular fashion, as well.

Most films that try to get the feel of the decade (Scotland, PA is a prime example), tend to lay it on a bit too thick w/ the fashion and music.

As goofy as the 70's look now, they were a lot of fun for those of us who were around then. (Of course, if I'd been older, I'd have had even more fun. And might be dead now.)

Hmm.. I love both Boogie Nights and Almost Famous, but I'm gonna go with The Ice Storm.

I WOULD agree with everyone on Cameron Crowe's "mahsta-piece" Almost Famous, but.............

Ang Lee's underrated film The Ice Storm is one of the most strangely unsettling films I've ever had to sit through, it was also the best film of 1997, IMHO. Few agree, but that's life. This unabashedly gets my vote.


P.S. I haven't seen BOOGIE NIGHTS all the way through. And Dazed and Confused has never touched mine eyes. :)
