Last night I rented and watched The Dead Hate the Living....and I'm not sure if I liked it or not. I definitely didnt hate it though. For the most part it was good, but some of the lamer effects kinda made it worse. I'm not really a big fan of zombie movies where there is like a main zombie, or a leader or someone controlling them, I prefer massive groups of zombies for basically no reason. I did think it was really cool that it was made for horror fans. It wasnt the best movie, but it wasnt bad for a little low budget movie.
What did everyone else think of this movie?

i love it, thought it was one of the best zombie movies to be made in years. love all the references and influences in it. sure the fire and electricity effects at the end were pathetic but bad effects dont bother me any.

Yeah, I enjoyed it as well, Unfortunately that opinion is in the minority.

My only real complaint is that the pace is a tad slow, Though an enjoyable film nonetheless.

Damn movie haunts me still. Begone foul demon....

As I've stated in other threads about this skid mark on life's underpants, I HATE this movie.

I like cheese but this movie was just beyond bad, it rubbed me the wrong way in all the wrong spots. Bad acting, bad effects and while I know they were intended to be praises, I found the constant attempt to reference previous zombie movies nothing more than a cheap ripoff to cover up the lame plot.

These are just my opinions, I could be wrong http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

Shit. A steaming mound of shit plagued with droves of maggots. An elderly couple having anal sex. These are the images that spring to mind when this film is mentioned. The viewing experience just wasn't very pleasurable. I expected the low-budget aftertaste, but this was shockingly below Full Moon standards! I couldn't even finish watching it.

I rented this movie for two reasons: 1) i enjoy FULL MOON for its "B" standards and hope to have at least one movie made by them someday and 2) I love a good zombie film and this looked like a good zombie film. This movie is now in my DVD collection. I'll let you figure out what I think of this movie..lol!

I've seen this movie around in a few stores and I'm just wondering is this the very cheesy type of movie or does it actually try to be serious and atmospheric? Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I thought this movie was just alright. The acting was decent and the effects were acceptable for the most part. I would say for Full Moon it's actually one of their better efforts. Check out Totem if you want to see what this company's bottom of the barrel truly looks like. The reason why I didn't like it as much as I might have has to do with the premise of people making a horror movie when, GUESS WHAT? Horrible things start happening to them. Wes Craven and Blair Witch maxed out this idea years ago and I'm really getting sick of it. The wink-wink self reflexivity is really beginning to grate on my nerves.
