This will be released on DVD on September 24, and I'm intrigued by its villain – a drug-crazed turkey monster! The cheese level seems to be astronomical, which means that I'll have to watch it at some point. Has anyone seen this 1972 oddity?

BLOOD FREAK kicks ass!!! This is one of the strangest cheesy movies ever to hit the screen. Yes, it is a very bad movie, but one of the greatest. Herschell the turkey monster is something to behold. The strangest thing is that it can't decide if it wants to be a gore film ala Herschell Gordon Lewis, or if it wants to be a anti-drug film or if it wants to be a Christianity training film. The narator who chainsmokes himself into a coughing fit has to be seen to be believed. The star (who's name I am blanking out on) was in a couple of 70's Tarzan movies and now lives with tigers and lions and walks around in his Tarzan loin cloth. There was an item about him on The Daily Show on Comedy Central a few months back.

Thanks for the feedback, dude. I dig weird, obscure b-movies, so I'll probably love Blood Freak! Just take a gander at some of these special features that will appear on the DVD:
"Blood Freak's" co-director wallows in the raw while extolling the virtues of nudism in the Unclothed Short Subject "Brad Grinter, Nudist"
Just say no or you'll descend into the Anti-Drug Short Subject "Narcotics, Pit of Despair"
Find God in a Psychedelic World with the Soul-Saving Short Subject "Beggar at the Gates"
Learn Everything You've Always Wanted to Know about Turkeys but Were Afraid to Ask in the Short Subject "Turkeys in the Wild"
Why is the Turkey such a Symbol of America? See the Patriotic Short Subject "A Day of Thanksgiving"
LOL!
