Here's ol screamer again with another rather obscure, but fun little flick. It's been a while since I have seen this one, but I remember having a good ol time with it. I think I'm gonna rent it again to refreshen my memory, but untill then, anyone ever see it? What did you think?

SPOILERS, but it matters none.
Predating Scream in the self-mockery department, Evil Laugh is your basic slasher that never fails to entertain. The characters are as generic as can be, but at least we get a cool horror buff thrown in for good measure. He’s aware of every cliché in the book, and yes, he explains the sex/death rule. Speaking of sex and death, there’s plenty of it here. A hot blonde goes topless, and there’s some mild S&M to be had. The gore looks incredibly cheap, but it’s so over-the-top, that you can’t help but to love it. My personal favorite death sequence occurs in the opening scene where our villain carves the heart out of a guy’s chest. Let’s just say that later on, it’s mistaken for provisions. Of course, the “microwave combustion” is priceless as well. All in all, this flick offers a plethora of clever grue and gratuitous nudity, two components that a slasher must embrace.
This is a whodunit. The “who” is laughable. The killer revelation comes equipped with faulty logic and a monologue, which is further proof that Wes Craven is a big fan of this overlooked film. A hilarious final twist takes place. Talk about a cruel fucking joke! This guy’s friends have just been slaughtered, and he’s making light of it? Well, I definitely didn’t expect to see that one coming, but that’s only due to the fact that it’s dumb and irrational. Still, I had a lot of fun with this by-the-numbers flick, partly because it acknowledges its routine structure. If you consider yourself to be a slasher hound, this energetic cheese dish is a must-see.
My rating-4/5
