If memory serves me correctly, this isn't a horror film. It's Clint Eastwood back in 1971 or so, playing a DJ with some obsessed fan who I think stalks him or something. It's been years since I've seen it, and it's good, just not horror. Think Fatal Attraction-ish.

Pretty cool one. It was at the time when Eastwood rarely made a bad flick. The girl who was the crazed fan was probably the most believable out of the sleep with a messed up girl movies.

If you can get past Clint Eastwood's God Awful "hip" wardrobe, then by all means rent it. As for the Clinster, his miscasting sticks out like a sore thumb. I mean he plays a dj on a local smoooooooooth jazz radio show ( think Antonio Bay, Stevie Wayne) and has the vocal prowess of coma patient. Ok, ok so he's not THAT bad but still...the sideburns and courderoys will make you want to go screaming back to the 90s in the worse way.

Should you see it? Most definitely. This thriller predates FATAL ATTRACTION and does a much creepier job (IMHO) of telling the "obsessed fan" story. Jessica Walter is frightening in her part, and Eastwood gives a solid performance in front of and behind the camera (PLAY MISTY FOR ME was his directorial debut).
All in all, this flick is effective. Makes you think twice about dumping a girl.
Hell, yes, you should see Play Misty for Me.
It got Clint's directing career off to a great start & he gives one of his best performances as well. Jessica Walter & Donna Mills are also great in their respective roles as the psychopath & girlfriend.
This classic was remade(to lesser effect) as Fatal Attraction & also paved the way for $hitty films like Poison Ivy, The Crush, Fear, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, &, most recently, Swimfan.

DON'T SEE THIS MOVIE.
it's an absolute snooze-fest. After I was about 45 minutes in, my mind detached from the movie and I began asking myself why the movie is boring me. BECAUSE NOTHING HAPPENED! I don't like to give up on movies ( and Clint Eastwood is pretty sexy), so I kept watching until the end, but I was glad when the credits rolled.
The movie is classified as a thriller, but nothing thrilling happens until an hour in. But it seems everyone else (including Arrow) enjoyed the flick, so who knows.

saw this a couple of weeks and while it was mostly good the lead actress really really annoyed the hell out of me with her shitty OOT acting, it really ruined the whole thing for me

I liked it. But then again, I like those "soap opera with knives" movies.

Yeah, it's an awesome movie. Especially at the end, where the girl confronts Eastwood and he says "Go ahead, make my day" and blows her brains out.

I think you're getting it confused with Bridges of Madison County.
