Stylish heist remake set in the South of France strarring Nick Nolte as a retired heroin addicted thief who decides to pull one last job with his usual bunch of cronies.You know the formula but here its pulled off well and the acting especially from Nolte is superb.

The director Neil Jordan (The Crying Game) has provided an atmospheric film set around picturesque locations with few flaws, making it a solid contribution to its genre.If you enjoyed films like Oceans 11,Ronin,Sexy Beast and Heist then go see this film.To my mind the film was superior to Ocean's but certainly lacked the memorable quotes that Sexy Beast gave us."Gotta change my shirt its sticking to me,im sweating like a cunt" (Don Logan)

Oh yeah and the girl who plays Anne the 17 year old sex fiend is a real piece of ass.As Bill Paxton would say "she has these tities that wanna make you beg for butter milk"

The Good Thief looks like a great movie. Nick Nolte looks great. I like the plot, although it is kinda cliched. But it looks like it has a cool, slick style to it. I will check this one out for sure.

The trailer has been playing for a few weeks at my theater, via our big screen in the lobby area where trailers play nonstop after dark. And I think it looks excellent. Neil Jordan is a really good director even after bad movies like IN DREAMS. Thx for the review La Motta.

Too bad the US won't get it till April. Also, on a side note, the poster is great.
