I know I really love this cool and fun horror movie! With all the spooky stuff that goes on in this movie like tools that fly around by themselves (i allways thought that was creepy) and Rogers old war buddy coming back from the dead for revenge, or his dead aunts spooky art work its no wonder I love this flick so much! And how about those weird tentacles coming out of the batrooms mirror? Or a doorway into another dimension right in your pool? How about that flying skull with bat wings? cool stuff indeedy...check this one out schmoes.. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
ps question is it me or does that flying skull make a fleeting appearance at the beginning of Evil Dead II?

House is an excellent movie. MY GOD it has George Wendt in it! I really like the campiness of this movie and although I haven't been able to find parts 3 and 4 I enjoyed 4 as well. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Well heres the story on House III, its not called house III, its not even an official sequel either, you see there was some sort of legal trouble over this film so it ended up being called Horror show, i think it was...anyone seen this unofficial sequel?
And then they went ahead and did part IV, so everyone ended up very confused when it came out, like me for example...is this horror show any good?

Sure do remember House!!
Don't you forget about that damn monster in the closet. That thing is great.
I even bought the DVD last week. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
As a kid I loved the movie and even after all this time I still liked it.
Think I'm gonna watch it again tonight. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

Yeah, I rented it last Thanksgiving and thought it was fun. Not great or memorable, but an entertaining enough diversion. I liked the severed hand part, it must've inspired Evil Dead II.
6/10.

I think the DVD includes part II in it right? Well at least the one they sell in the u.s. does.
And yeah that monster in the closet was one of the best monsters in the movie. And that scene where his aunt hangs herself at the begining of the movie...oooh scary.
I also liked that fat witch thing that just wont die!
cool movie in deed. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I got a couple of chuckles out of this movie but that was about it. This movie tried to be corny and at times it worked but at other moments everything was just too flat. George Wendt could have been funny but his dialogue was too stupid for me. I wouldn't call this movie a waste of time but I wouldn't watch it again either.

When i was a kid my dad had seen house and decided to tell me about it as a bedtime story. being as pussified as I was back in those days i was terrified of it and pictured it a one giant nightmare in my head. When i finally saw it years later I was really amused and enjoyed it. house 2 used to crack me up. its not really horror but its fun stuff.

Anyone know what Im talking about? Cause the thing is I have never seen it, and I would really like to check it out...maybe Arrow knows something about this, but Im almost sure it was called Horror Show. And I think it starred that Rat killer guy from Sam Raimis Crimewave. If Im babbling here just let me know...

and heres a comment from someone who saw it:
Date: 17 May 1999
Summary: Worst of the House movies
If you are one of the few that thinks they skipped a House III, you're wrong, but don't be sad that you're wrong because this movie sucked anyway. This movie makes House IV look like Shakespeare. This movie is THAT bad. Watched the first or the second movie instead.
-Ill probably see it anyways, you know curiosity killed the fkin cat..

House was decent fun. I agree with Sheepshaver that some of the comedy missed the mark, though. Things got a little too hokey at times. However, it features Richard Moll of Night Court fame, so...bonus!

Ahh.. House. man i love these movies. House was great, how can it suck when it has both George Wendt and Richard Moll in the same movie. House 2, for some reason, was good too. House 3 aka The Horror Show sucked. and I can't remember if ive seen House 4 or not, if i have its not very memorable.

Plot goes something like this: Roger Cobb is killed in a car accident. His family must move into the house that has haunted him for several years. Soon the family begins to experience scary and unexplained phenomena, insert all sorts of ghosts and goblins in here and you got yourself a sequel of sorts, though not as satasfying as the first two...sigh.

I have seen the first two. The original has some OK gore, lots of humor, a decent story, and a fair amount of good and well executed makeup/FX. I've only seen it twice and I already feel so familiar with it that I wouldn't really want to see it again. Worth checking out as a rental. The sequel was actually kind of good too, very strange, even more humor than the first, and both gore and horror elements are toned down. There's also a very heavy fantasy element throughout. Not as good and very different than the first, fairly enjoyable.

the thing about the first and second one was that they were "horror movies" but they had a very broad appeal. They were horror movies that I guess evry one could enjoy...you know the type of horror film youd use to get someone started into horror.. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

House 1 and 2 are excellent movies. Fun, entertaining blah blah blah, you guys said it all. these movies are classics. although part 3 is a worthless ripoff of shocker(which was worthless to begin with) and It's really bad, I mean it's the kind of bad where you want to shove a needle in your eye just to stop the pain. It's not even fun, avoid. although i cant remember much of house 4, wasnt there some part with buglars coming into the house? i really forget.

What I remember most about House IV is this part were a pizza has a little face in it, and thats really a rip off of what we saw in Nightmare on elm part 4.
Ive never seen part III "Horror show" but what I hear from it I should stear clear from it..heh. No good fx or anything Claw? Anything likable in Horror show at all?
Well from your description of it no.. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

If you like your horror coated with some comedy, while at the same time spooking you out..get it. This ones a little scarier than the second one. It has ghost war buddies from the past and spooks all over, not to mention flying tools, wich use to spook the hell out of me when I was a little kid. Its a fun ride.
As for the second one, its the only sequel of this series thats worth a watch. Its a little liter, and funnier, but still cool for any horror fan. One word to describe these films is "fun". More so on this sequel. Defenetly worth a trip to your local video shop.
nothing like a cool "ghost cowboy" in search of a cool looking skull that can help you travel through time type of movie. See it!
