Slow News Day - this could be very sweet :)
Avengers (something like Busiek and Perez's Ultron arc)
Strangers in Paradise would make such a great film :p

A person after my own heart!!!! Thank-you thank-you thank-you!!

I would love to see an Avengers movie.

Characters:

Captain America
Thor
Iron Man (not my three favorite characters but I know they'd be there so there's no point in not putting them there)
Black Panther
Wasp
She-Hulk
Firestar
Vision

(I kept it to eight otherwise they'd be splitting too much screen time).

A guest spot by Spidey and the Hulk would kick ass too!!!

Nice line-up

I'd probably go with:
Cap,
Thor,
Iron-Man,
Wasp and GiantMan,
Vision,
Scarlet Witch,
She-Hulk,
Warbird/Ms Marvel (my fave :) )

They so have to fight Ultron :p

The Authority would be the wildest action picture ever, and it could also tackle alot of serious issues as well.

I agree. Actually, there are rumours that there is a film in pre-production, with Jesse Custer being played by the guy who plays Cyclops in X-Men. James something. Marsden, maybe. There's even a picture of what Arseface would look like. To be honest, I can't really see it happening.

V for Vendetta would be great, I agree. Problem is, it would probably be shifted to the US for the US market. As for Watchmen, Terry Gilliam wrote a script, but it was rejected - probably quite rightly - as the film would have been 6 hours long. I know LOTR is longer all told, but Watchmen doesn't have the same cultural kudos as LOTR. There are also rumours of a Batman: Year One film directed by Darren Aronofsky of Requiem for a Dream infamy. Now that would be ace

Personally, I'd like to see John Wagner and Arthur Ranson's Button Man made into a film.

i would have to say Judge Dredd. but they would have to do it properly, with the dark judges and everything. not like that shit they put out with the JD tag on it.

would love to see some more of the 2000AD stuff, maybe rogue trooper, or SD.

happy thoughts

I've always seen Rogue Trooper as a poor reworking of Vietnam cliches, but perhaps I was reading it at the wrong time.

i always read it as a fun and interesting reworking of the vietnam cliches. both of the series (the old and the new rogue) were pretty enjoyable :)

but thats just me./ and u have to admit, it would make a fun film :)

Id like to see em do Hard Boiled by Frank Miller. That comic reads like a freaking movie anyways! You could see the comic as the story boards for the movie.

Also a story printed a while back by Marvel called Infinity Gauntlet, in wich most of the marvel universe dies becaus Thanos falls in love with Death so he decides it would be a cool little gift for her to off half of the creatures on the universe with the power of the infinity Gem...preatty cool huh?

And last but not least...a Hulk story done by George Perez called "Future Imperfect" in wich The Hulk battles an evil version of himself from the future called "The Maestro".

Id also like to see Spawn movie done the right way. Dark and brooding, and very, very, R rated.

That project (Year One) is basically dead now. Watchmen never got off the ground because the Sam Hamm script sucked, and couldn't get financed for Terry Gilliam to direct (like most of his movies). But I know of a way to keep the spirit of the story, remain faithful, and make it good in script form under 3 hours since not every element in the story is necessary

Agree on everything!!! I would've added your picks of GiantMan, Warbird and The Scarlet Witch as well, but like I said, I wanted to keep it to eight. (actually, they would have been the following three and then Wonder Man). And I HAD to slide Firestar in there because she's my favorite character (tied with She-Hulk as my avatar indicates).

As for fighting Ultron, it couldn't be any other way!!

James Logan

THE PUNISHER -- starring Eric Bana. I'd see it as a dark, dark, dark movie, directed by John Woo, or Christopher Nolan, or someone who can handle dark shite.

GREEN ARROW -- written by Kevin Smith.

THE FLASH -- starring Vin Diesel.

IRON MAN -- starring Tom Cruise.

The Inhumans would be ideal.

Think about it...it wont have to deal with other heroes, just their existence and how the human race deals with them, forseeing them as a threat....it could make for an interesting movie.

Pluse Black bolt can kick anyone's ass...heh.

Does anybody read Fables?

That would make for a great movie.

Of course, it will have to wait for a few years to be made, because the comic shares some ideas with the movie "Shrek."

the first 4 west coast avenger books in a 4 issue series could make for an awesome flick....it would need certain extra things though....like in the upcoming iron man flick explain the tony stark deal and how he handed down the armor.

a namor: the sub mariner film might work...I like the plot of the one issue dealing with him battling it out with the War Machine for a bit, then of course teaming together in the end to help mankind and such out....

Shatter M'man! You just made me, well, quiver! Jonah Hex is one of my all time favorite comic book characters! I loved the revamp that was done by Vertigo a while back.

Jack Palance (say in his 40's) would make a great Hex, but I always thought that Mr. Eastwood (from around the time he did Pale Rider) would do well too.

As for current actors, it would almost have to be an older actor, say late 30's early 40's. One guy I could see in the part is Jason Statham, but I dont know if he can drop the accent. He's got that grizzly type look, and add the scar to his face, I think he would be almost perfect!

Other than that, my personal dream team would be Kurt Russell to act and John Carpenter to direct. JC has said in the past that alot of his films are basically "westerns", and I'd like to see his take on a true western character. With the weird plots that came out of Vertigo's revamp, I'm sure Carpenter could find a plot that works well for him.

I'm also holding out for the Ghost Rider movie, but I havent heard much about it lately. Last I heard, Nic Cage was set to star and Steven Norrington was looking to direct. Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider is my absolute all time favorite comic book character, so I would like the movie to do well

Sadly I never read any Jonah Hex stories, but I thought the Batman episode with Ra's Al Ghul's flashback with Jonah was really good.

After seeing that and City Slickers 1&2, the idea of Jack Palance as Jonah Hex came to me. But if the comic is really that good I'll have to try and find some back issues.

Yer a zombie chick after my own rotting heart.

Aside from the first Evil Ernie and Marshal Law mini-series, I would like to see...
Lobo: The Last Czarnian (starring Andrew Bryniarski)
Frank Miller's Ronin
a Ghost Rider film without Nic Cage (he's a Superhero fan, NOT a comic fan, and it should be obvious how I feel about Superheroes)
An epic Slaine: The Horned God
The Last American
Steampunk
A movie based on Caliber's Oz series
Generation X (A FAITHFUL adaption. No Fox TV Bullshit)
And finally, Ambush Bug
