I've never seen it before, but I came across the dvd at a very cheap price. Was the movie any good? Is it worth buying?

yeah, the movie's great, but its not something that I would buy...its a little dry and not something you'd want to watch over and over again.

Have to agree with Tox on this one. The Omen is a great movie. I don't know if it's better the The Exorcist, but it's right up there with it. Very creepy and atmosphere galore. The acting was superb and the charachters were so well developed that I felt I knew all of them by the end of the film. The DVD also has soe good features including a very interestin "Making Of" featurette. I would pick this one up if I were you.

One of the greatest horror flicks made to date. It also has one of the best decapitations put on film. 1-3 are actually very good but the fourth was sort of shitty.
They all have at least one awesome gore sequence.

1-3 are really good but 4 makes no sense. at times it appears to be an omen remake w./ a chick. that little girl was too freakin annoying. she doesnt hold a candle to whoever played damien in 1. pt. 1 is a classic and the using the pictures to predict deaths is a really kewl idea.

The Omen Trilogy is brilliant IMO. The priest on a stick bit was made at Bishop's Park, just up the road from where I live. I've stood right under the church at the exact same spot that priest did. The "stick", pole whatever doesn't actually exist of course.

It is a great film that stands out still and is a classic! It has everything a movie should. It has a great story and plot, the acting is great. It is a great suspense. No I would not consider it a horror film that everyone seems to expect these days, but it is a horror film, like a personal horror adaption. It is like it was intended to be. It also has a great decapitation, It goes on a little longer because of the fact people would hide their eyes and when they would look up they still see the head rolling. That was genius and for a director to have that sort of vision and logic says alot about it's creation. Alot of love was put into this film and alot of care. I think fans can tell if something is just thrown together upon whim or put together with thought. I think true horror fans appreciate this and would never put it down.
