First off,im not biased or such against gays, and im not gay myself...have no problem with them.
I was just wondering, has there ever been a horror film dealing with a gay person as the lead character?or just a gay person surviving a horror film?i was just wondering strangely.

If a gay person is in a horror movie, it's usually because the writer is sitting around trying to come up with some extraneous characters who can be killed off, and they need to give them a personality. You know, they think, hmmm, there can be a slut, a jock, a black person, and a gay person. They are also used occassionally for comic relief, but at the moment, black characters have the monopoly on this role. However, this usually only applies to slasher films. There are some fleshed-out gay characters in horror films, but unfortunately, not often. Having said that, I can think of several other gay characters in horror films besides the aforementioned ones.

The main character in ANOES 2 seems like a closet gay. Yeah, he's sort of courting that girl, but when he sneaks in his friend's room, his friend is like "you'd rather sleep with me than be with her!" or something like that.

FYI, transvestism and homosexuality are not analogous - most cross-dressers are hetero.
That said, the only gay horror character I can think of is the guy from NOES2.
Wait, what about Skip and Arch in April Fool's Day?
In "Psycho Beach Party" that guy named Provolone and his boyfriend lived!!!
Plus in "The Bride of Chucky" there was a gay guy, but he got splattered if I remember correctly!!!
Also in "CUT" wasnt the blonde lead (not Molly Ringwald) gay??? I mean I got the sense that her and the black haired chick were lovers, and if she was then she survived.

It may not be gay, but the H.E. (homoeroticism) is more than just one minute.
At one point in ANOES2, Jesse (who's cute in that nonthreatening gay way, and often shirtless) leaves his suburban home and enters a wild, bisexual S&M bar where one of its patrons is the coach. The two wind up naked in the high school showers where ropes and Freddy's claws make for awfully short foreplay.
A case could also be made that Jesse is torn between a nice, pleasant hetero life (represented by Lisa), and a deadly, disgusting gay life (which is of course what Freddy wants). Remember, this was 1985.

I think he just meant that FREDDY was somewhat symbolic of Jesse's "other" side that he was trying to keep hidden from everyone else. Not that FREDDY wanted him to be gay. I actually don't think the movie is that bad. I heard a rumor, not sure if this is a lie or not so don't kill me if it is, that Jack Sholder, the director of the film, was also gay. Another (http://members.fortunecity.com/roogulator/horror/elmstreet2.htm) site speculates:
"The weirdest part about the film is to how the basic premise has been twisted around to become a gay coming out parable. There’s a bizarrely out-of-place sequence where the teen hero encounters his coach in a gay leather bar and they return to the school gym for a bondage session. Now Freddy is no longer a boogie man seeking revenge but someone trying to possess the hero’s body. Freddy is seen as representative of sadomasochistic gay tendencies - the hero is seen to be literally struggling against this ‘bad’ nature coming out in him. In one leerily symbolic scene his girlfriend tries to make out with him, but he finds himself unable to stop Freddy bursting out of his mid-regions and has to abandon her and rush off and ask his best male friend to watch him while he sleeps!"

Somehow I don't think the clothing that Corey Haim wears in TLB and that poster of Lamahl in his cupboard is enough to brand him homosexual.
Norman Bates didn't dress like his mother to get kicks, it was his split personality doing the work, so it was effectively his mother that was dressing up and killing...So that buggers up their Transvestite theory.

I've never been fond of gay characters in horror films. Actually I'm rarely fond of any characters in horror films. The problem is no one takes horror seriously so everything is setup to scare you and nothing is worked out to make you relate to/care about anyone in the film. Pseudo-dramatic horror films seem to throw in a bunch of diverse characters to seem like you're watching something intelligent and fresh, but they're all stereotypical and token. There's never a masculine gay male or a lead non-i'llmakefunofthefactthatblackpeoplediefirst black character. I can't recall seeing ANY asians in lead roles. Right now I'm working on two different scripts (out of 6) with lead characters that fit into minority groups. I have a lot of confidence in my work though and I think I have a good shot at adding something new to the horror genre.

Well when a quality about yourself that is made such a huge issue is misrepresented or represented in only one aspect all over the world... then it is kind of a big deal. I watch horror for the fear and, when it applies, the plot/characterization. I like to see how normal people act in fucked up situations that most of us will never be in. I just can't get into movies where people are constantly killed and the only reason you care about them is because the actor or actress is hot and you want to see his or her face longer. Take a look at "Darkness Falls." "Here... let me pick the gravel out of your scalp." Enough said.

Umm there will always be older actors/actresses playing teenagers in movies. But then again, when they look young enough, they have the right to be able to play a teenager. But I don't understand what the difference is between a 25 year old man playing a 17 year old,or a 17 year old playing a 17 year old. Both do the same stupid moves.

I just happened to watch this movie recently, and I don't know if anyone else noticed, but in Corey Haim's bedroom there is a poster of a shirtless guy on his closet door....I remember seeing that and thinking "WTF is THAT all about?"

As for Corey Haim's sexuality in "Lost Boys", I always suspected he swung the other way. What gave it away for me was that Rodeo-Drive-chic full-length coat he wore when he and his brother were exploring the Promenade (one of the Frog brothers even calls him a "fashion victim").
In "Single White Female" Bridget Fonda's upstairs neighbour (the one with the pet cat) was openly gay. I'm pretty sure he survived - it's been a long time since I saw SWF.
