Synopsis: Donna dreams of becoming a first class international flight attendant and is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that her dreams come true. The road to success, though, is rarely a smooth flight, and as she begins her trip, she encounters more turbulence than she ever bargained for. But the real question is whether her bumpy start will cause her to leave her dreams behind or if it will take her on the journey of a lifetime.(http://www.miramax.com/viewfromthetop/index.html)

I have been waiting to see View from The Top for awhile, and now after many delays (9/11, etc.), it is being released.

The cast is superb (Gwyneth Paltrow, Mike Myers, Christina Applegate, Candice Bergen, Kelly Preston, Mark Ruffalo, Stacey Dash, Rob Lowe) and the trailer is quite amusing and had me laughing whenever Mike Myers came on screen.

View From The Top looks like a harmless, entertaining good time!

I will be seeing this opening weekend. What do y'all think of the film?

I love Gwyneth Paltrow and Christina Applegate, and I think A VIEW FROM THE TOP looks entertaining. I haven't seen the trailer, but I've seen quite a few TV spots, and although they were a little weak, I still think it looks good. If I didn't have a few other movies I wanted to see first, then I just might have ended up checking this out in theaters. But as of right now, it looks like I'll just end up renting it on video. However, if I get the other movies out of the way and get a chance to see this one, then I probably would.

Yeah, I usually see pretty much everything she's in too, even DUETS (7/10 or B-), which was actually not bad at all, a lot better than I expected. I also really like Applegate and I'm glad to see her acting again, I thought she was fun in JUST VISITING and THE SWEETEST THING. However, the TV spots are pretty damn weak and not very funny. But I'll still check it out. I doubt it will do that good at the Box Office though, I'm thinking an opening of 6 Million seems accurate.

"A View from the Top" doesn't interest me in the slightest. If I have the unfortunate luck of being dragged into this film, I want someone to give me a damn good beating afterwards.... :D

This looks terrible in my opinion. The T.V. spots are so unfunny it's not even....well funny.

"View From The Top" looks quite amusing. Paltrow and Mike Myers should make a great team, and the trailers are laugh-out-loud funny at parts. I am going to make a big effort to find the time to check this out in theatres! Can't wait!

Although I really like Gwenyth Paltrow, this doesn't interest me, even with the presence of Mike Myers. The trailer and TV spots just ain't doing it for me

What I have seen from the trailer to the cast ensemble, yes I am making a date to go.... Obiviously the scence where Paltrow gets asked if she ever flown on an airplane before would get edited out if it turns up as an in flight movie!

:D

For unknown reasons, (During the TV spot) I always laugh when the woman asks Donna "Have you flown before?" and she replies "Of course." and they show her screaming . . . http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/happy/roflmao.gif . . .

Did anyone notice from the previews that Kelly Preston's breasts look much larger than usual??

I think this looks like a decent time at the movies: some laughs, some fun, and yet ultimately forgettable. I just hope to go and enjoy myself. I will try to see it this weekend.

Hmm, why does the poster for A VIEW FROM THE TOP remind me of the poster for LEGALLY BLONDE!?

For me it's either a hit or miss when it comes to Gwyneth Paltrow, some movies I like her in others I don't. This one looks like a fun light-hearted film, however I'll wait till it's out on video.

This does look like an overly done romantic comedy. But then I thought, why would these big stars waste their time with such a thing? So I guess I can't cancel this one out.

Roger Ebert gave it ***, so my expectations have rised a LITTLE bit, considering that while *** is a good review, from him... well, he's been giving a lot of good reviews in his older years, so you know.

Either way, I will be seeing this tonight with my friends.

Am I the only one here who didn't laugh once during the previews. Now I love comedies, but I didn't even crack a smile. The only thing that would save it for me would be Mike Myers, but I hear it's only a cameo.

No Mike ur NOT seeing things in the concept poster of A View To The Top. The theme is 10/10 similar to Legally Blonde. I do see the similarites. OK, I went & saw the movie. I was ok but could have been better. I kinda wished that it u know pushed the envelope a bit. Like another movie from the 80's "Stewardess School"? But in PG-13 style:D I really like Gwenyth Platrow's character who goes and does what she plans & sets out to do.

SPOILERS

Why didnt Kelly Preston make the cut? She claimed to have worked for Pan Am. That would have been an assest to her. And Christina Applegate.....lol Trailer Trash Ho! And also........

Applegates character is a lying backstabbing bitch! That explains the fight scence she has w/ Platrow. Apparently Applegate

CHEATED Paltrow from her dreams that she wanted to do.
I kinda wished that Paltrow fought back but hey shes to good to resorting to Applegates level. Movie was ok but could have been fun. 7/10

A pooh, this movie is NOT on DVD yet

This movie is awful. It's definitley the worst movie of 2003 so far. I laughed twice, at two parts that were in the trailer....! Everything else in the movie feels rushed and really desperate for laughs, which it doesn't get. This is the longest 85 minute movie I've ever had to sit through....

3.5/10

View from the Top doesn't look like a very good feel good comedy...although I still plan on seeng it. I have come to like Gwyneth Paltrow over the years, but I'm not sure if she is right for this. I do like Mike Myers but he doesn't look very appealing at all in this film. Expectations are pretty low except a couple of good laughs. I plan on seeing it thursday.

View From The Top

A fluffy, cheesy, pointless film that was actually entertaining.

I liked the parts of the film not involving the romance between Gwynnie and Mark Ruffalo...the two had no chemistry whatsoever,

But when all is said and done, I chuckled quite abit, sat back and admired Gwyneth Paltrow's striking beauty, laughed at Mike Myers, and tapped my feet to the cheesy pop music.

Is it a good film, well No! Is it entertaining, Yes! it's disposable fluff, but hey it's enjoyable.

My GF and I saw this the other night. It was no work of art but it was kind of enjoyable...it's definitely a date movie. I actually found the soundtrack quite enjoyable :), those wern't actually the original cheezy tunes but cheezy covertunes :) I'd give the movie a 6.0 also...it's more of a cuddling on the couch kinda movie than a cinema movie :)

View from the Top is a light hearted, silly little movie about a small town girl, who strives to leave her small beginnings and meet her dream of becoming an airline stewardess. However she finds success at the top to be lonely and ultimately unfulfilling. This movie is pure silly, fluff, and shoudln't be taken very seriously. Going into this film my expectations were pretty low. I have slowly grown to like Gwyneth Paltrow over the past few years as an actress...but oh how she has fallen! What is she doing in this meaningless sappy piece of shite! She is much better than that, and should be doing much better movies than this. Gwyneth plays Donna Jensen, a small town girl from Silver Springs, Nevada, who hopes to leave her small hick town life and reach for a bigger and better life. She finds inspiration from author and World class stewardess Sally Winslow played by Candice Bergen, and soon she wants to be high in the skys...serving the rich and successful. Her dream is "first class international(Paris)" with a top flight airline called Royalty Airlines. At first her dreams are met with a significantly less lofty airline...that basically flys back and forth from one cow town to another. She quickly becomes friends with buxom Sherry played by Kelly Preston and sneaky, bitchy Christine played by Christina Applegate. She also strikes up a small romance with would be attorney Ted played by Mark Ruffalo(this guy I can't stand he is just awful in this). The opportunity comes when Royalty Airlines has a job training fair and the three girls all try to get in with the top flight airline. The training program is ran by John Whitney played by Mike Myers, who is neurotic, creepy and has a weird problem with his eye to boot! Naturally, Donna is the top of her class, who aces everything and strives to be the best. Unfortunately after the training program she is placed with the Express route to Cleveland. Her dreams of reaching the top have been dashed inexplicably. It is revealed why she doesn't make it, but I won't go into that...but it is plainly obvious what happened and we can see it a mile away before it happens. Eventually Donna gets her dream, but leaves poor Ted behind...and naturally you can figure the rest for yourself. This movie is colorful with its costumes and hair-styles and upbeat with its uplifting and poppy soundtrack so I will give it that, but really who cares...it's just a silly little movie about a girl wanting to be a stewardess! The acting is nothing to write home about and the script has no substance. It trys to be funny at times but it really doesn't work. Overall, View from the Top is what it is a silly, light fluffy movie about a girl from a humble beginning trying to reach her dreams. It shouldn't be taken seriously and doesn't need to be seen either.

omg ur completely right. I saw this cause i couldnt get inot pphone booth last night and it was sooo bad. The movie has absolutley zero laugh out loud funny scenes, and Mike Meyers really, really, over does it in this one. By far the worst of 2003, this makes Agent Cody Banks seem bearable. 2/10
