I thought this one was great! I laughed my ass off the entire time. It was soooo cheesy, but a great b-movie. Wasn't this Peter jackson's directing/acting debut?

I agree, Bad Taste is one of the greatest, funniest, but probably not the cheesiest B-movies.

By the way, this movie isn't Peter Jackson's debut in acting or directing. He has directed a movie called The Valley in 1976. He also acted in it.

Bad Taste is holy. It's as simple as that. DeadByDawn, I'm not familiar with The Valley. What genre did it fall into? Have you seen it? Tell me more! Tell me more!

Bad Taste is a great fillum, when one of the characters busts his skull on a rock, and has to hold his brains in for the rest of the movie, that was high on ick factor for me...entertaining though. But being a New Zealander means Peter Jackson's film's rate highly with me.

Sidenote & *Possible Spoiler*

The house that turns out to be the alien's spaceship, my grandmother's funeral reception was held in that house. Creepy.

BAD TASTE is absoulutely amazing one thing I don't get is why people critisize the acting.
I mean the acting was of a STYLE if you take that type of acting out the film and replace it with "good" acting it wouldn't fit the film.
You don't watch BAD TASTE for to see TOM CRUISE or BEN AFFLECK.
You watch (or I do) because the way the people act is closer to the reaction of REAL people.

eek, I just had a chilling thought...what if Hollywood decides to remake "Bad Taste" now that Peter Jackson turned A-list director with LOTR??

Ben Affleck as Derek
Alec Baldwin as Frank
Matthew McConaughey as Ozzy
Owen Wilson as Barry
Robin Williams as Giles

argh!!!!! now I'm going to have nightmares thinking about that.......

Produced my Micheal bay and of course he'll announce"it'll focus less on gore and more on story and plot"

fuck me with a rake, now I'm truly chilled to the bone.......

countchocula, I haven't seen The Valley (got the info from IMDb) but I think it's not horror. I have no idea what it's about, but I know that it's PJ's first work.

anyone know anything about the valley? i havent heard of it, was it something that was ever in print even or just one of his project movies? i was always under the impression bad taste was his first, i'm just out for information here, i'd like to see it just cause its peter jackson if i can.

EDIT-its only 20 minutes, i'm guessing it was just a small project he did that never went anywhere. maybe at a film festival or somthing, but i dont think it was anything more than that. i dont think it was ever on video or anything, at least not fromt he looks of it. i'd still watch it though.

This movie gives my film career hope, well, at least in my eyes. I've heard that it took him years to complete it, and he filmed it on weekends when he had a regular 9 to 5 job.

Just shows what you can do when you are committed to what you love.

The man started out making a *fill-in-the-adjective* little alien/horror film, and fifteen years later, he ends up directing the biggest trilogy of the new millennium. Wow.

im not a big fan of this movie. I find it rather boring. I had seen Dead Alive a few days before so maybe I was expecting a bit more gore/horroh. Regardless, im not a big fan of shoot-em-ups and the end put me to sleep.

a few good things would be the obvious "bowl" scene. Also the first kill was nice. Other than that....snoooze central.

I loved BAD TASTE. It's really full of...bad taste. :D But sweet bad taste. It's funny, weird, and everything a good B-movie should be.

Bad Taste KICKS ASS!!! My favorite part was when the guy's brains kept falling from his head. I think Peter Jackson is a great director.

Bad Taste is one of my fave films..Brain Dead is really good as well, though obviously more professional...

When the BBC showed 'Bad Taste' in the UK (about ten years ago) they had a making of documentary (think it was called Good Taste?) on after it - There was interviews with the cast and it showed how they filmed most scenes, including the house flying off!

Has anyone seen Meet The Feebles - Its like The Muppets on acid!

Cheers for that info, Tox..
I'll have to check if it is out here - Though probably not - Americans seem to get the better deal with their region 1 DVD's!!
