Has anyone seen this movie? I saw some clips for it on CreepyClips.com and thought it looked pretty good and gory. Have any of you seen it?

Castle Freak is the most satisfying Full Moon film I've had the pleasure of watching. Yes, the gore is detailed and graphic. One scene in particular is downright repulsive, almost too much for the seasoned genre fan! Don't get the wrong impression, though. There's much more here than bloodshed. It's a treat to watch Combs and Crampton together again, especially since Combs plays against his typecast. He proves his versatility, and shines through as a normal guy who actually isn't a maniacal doctor/scientist! Definitely check this film out, provided that it's uncut. I haven't seen the R-rated version, but I can imagine that quite a bit is missing.

A great film from a normally piss poor prod company. Along with PIT AND THE PENDULUM, it stands as best acted, directed, and great cnematography.
Jeff Combs shows his best side as an actor. His chem with Barb Crampton is still on, and Jonathon Fuller makes the Freak a real character.
Very gory, kinky, and I enjoyed watching this.
The daughter's performance is touching.

Jeffrey Combs was great as the alcoholic John Reilly, coping with his son's death. It was interesting to see Barbara Crampton as a mom. The climax was suspenseful and it's always good to see Jeff kick some ass!

Definetly a gem worth your time and money. The freak is an excellent monster, the cast is right on and the atmosphere is perfect. Check it out.

Not a bad flick for a somewhat recent full moon release.
It is loosley based on H.P. Lovecraft's 'The Outsider'
If you rent it, look for the uncut version.

It is really not a bad film.
Good use of the main setting and it is really shot in Italy, good point for the gothic view .
It is really gory and the end is somber but I like these kind of endings.

How long is the uncut version. I picked up the R-rated version awhile back and it's 95 minutes. Didn't know there was an uncut version....

This movie is without a doubt one of the most disgusting movie Sturt Gordon has ever made,I love it.Combs and Crampton are really good in this, but the real star is John Fuller who pulls off something wild to play the freak. The whore munching scene is worth price of rental alone. This is the best Full moon movie yet. That crook Charles Band didn't seserve to release this.

Yeah...he's an ugly mofo. I saw this movie a long time ago. In the UK it was pretty heavily censored. The censors in this country just ain't fond of the kind of degree of breast mutilation that the uncut version of this movie contains. The movie was quite atmospheric with good performances and it looked a lot more expensive than the majority of Full Moon productions. They shot on location and it shows. It's an above average scare flick. I wouldn't buy it but it's worth a rental. 3/5

Not sure what the time difference is, I believe the scene with the hooker is the scene that may be extended ?

I also loved this movie. This, along with The Ugly, are on my "buy immediately" list. I don't like to even call the dude a freak, because I felt so sorry for him. I like the analogy made by showing both the father and the antagonist as whipping boys. I really felt for both of them.

Well Im glad Ive made this one a part of my collection. Jeffrey Combs is great in it, and its really got a really good story and acting. Jeffrey Combs as a drunk was unbelievably good!
And of course the scene where the freak kills the whore was unforgetable! :D Im a happy Stuart Gordon fan..yey.

Hey Count I too enjoyed a lot of things on this movie not just the gore.
I mean dont get me wrong it has great gore and blood (it is Stuart Gordon after all) but it had a lot more going for it.
The Freak character even though he is sort of like a monster, is a tragic character. Hes a result of neglect and torture. I felt really sorry for him at times.
And the situations between Barbara Crampton and Jeffrey Combs were really interesting. She not wanting to forgive him and all was a really interesting dilema.
This film is a low budget, but its still excellent. And the make up of the freak is decent! Check it out schmoes!

Yeah, Gordon can do wonders with a low budget. This and Dagon should have had theatrical runs.

I haven't seen that movie in about 3 years. I think I caught it on Showtime, so I saw the cut version no doubt.
I recorded it, but have since lost the tape. I might spring some loot for this one... *thumbs up!*
