Just bringing this one back to the top. I rented Bloody Murder 2 earlier, but haven't watched it yet. The suspense is...killing me. Actually, I am excited in a strange way.

I'll let you guys know what I think later today.

(SPOILERS HIGHLIGHT TO READ)
I watched it earlier, I found it to be quite a bit of fun, I enjoyed it, nothing more and the ending was hysterical when the killer is about to kill the heroine and the REAL Trevor shows up and kills him instead, looks like Trevor isn't to fond of tacky knock offs either "No Trevor it's me daddy Trevor Nooooooooo". I liked some of the gore the movie had to offer but there wasn't enough kills, do I need to mention the nudity, THANKS GUYS. I noticed a little error the killer claims Jason was his first victim but in the first movie Nelson claimed he didn't kill Doug and it must of been Trevor Moorhouse and since Jason died at the end it would of made Doug his first victim. Also the killers motive was identical to Friday The 13th, come on, a father killing councillers becasue of what happened to his son years ago, jeez.

Jason Voorhees

I watched it. It was actually pretty good -- worlds better than the first. The nudity was excellent, and the murders were much, much better (Like SF said, though, there should've been more). Actually, the film was superior in every way. The acting wasn't monosyllabic and flat (it wasn't good, but it was entertaining), and the cinematography was far better. The script was, too, but it wasn't great. And Trevor himself sports an improved visage.

I did notice some of the qualms Slasherfan pointed out. The last one he lists irked me a bit.

Spoilers! Highlight to read:Not only was the Killer's motive the same as Mrs. Voorhees' motive, but the way he died was, too. Although, that was a fuckin hilarious decap.

Still, a drastic improvement. If there's a third one, it'll be a horror classic! Okay, maybe not...but still...

I'd probably give BM2 a 3/5.

Definitely. I mean, how could you go wrong with this:

Car drives into view.
Broken down, but it looks fine.
Bill is quite confused.

He walks down the road.
Disappears and then appears.
What the hell was that?

Bill comes to a truck.
"Thank God I ran into you."
Whoops Bill, you fucked up.

Out comes a masked man.
"Trevor Moorhouse," mutters Bill.
Then he falls over.

Moorhouse chases Bill
Through the harshly-lighted woods.
Trevor looks quite drunk.

Bill then falls again.
This guy just can't run for shit.
Still though, he gets up.

Fuck, he's fell again.
This time Trevor's caught young Bill.
Out comes the chainsaw.

We see Bill's dumb face.
"No-oo-oo-oo-oo" he screams.
Too late Bill, you're fucked.

Now we see a car.
In this car are 5 dumb teens.
None of them can act.

First we have Toby.
He's the token funny guy.
But he's not funny.

Next up we have Dean.
He looks like the wrestler Edge.
He has funny hair.

Then there is Whitney.
She looks like she's Latino.
She can't act at all.

Jason's also there.
His name copys that guy from
Friday The 13th.

Finally there's Jules.
She's cute, but acts woodenly.
Much like everyone.

The title appears.
"Bloody Murder", plain white font.
A cheap piece of shit.

Then "Carlos Puente".
Puerto Rican and lazy*.
*NOT THAT THERE'S A LINK

They arrive at camp.
The sign says "LAKE PLACID PINES".
That sounds cheap as hell.

Patrick then appears.
Names them all with seeming ease.
He also bends spoons.

Brad is introduced.
He and Jason once ran track.
Not that that matters.

Then we meet the stars:
Surfer Dude and the quite cute
Blonde Chick With No Name.

"No shortage of knives".
Toby states the obvious.

We need more, and I think that, after reading the above, many schmoes will agree.

:).

Aye, I was still toying with the idea of a commentary. I'd have to rip the film, record a commentary over it, then get it onto DVD or VCD and send it to people I think (since not many people actually have the film).

Oh, and I don't have a microphone yet. :)

All your comments due to this thread's revival have encouraged me to start work on another analysis, possibly going back to my Camp Blood 2 one, whcih I started nearly 2 years ago in this thread...

I've been aware of this thread (and obviously this awful movie), but I never read all of it through until now... Holy crap! That was great, Scully, you are hilarious! I don't know if its a better if I have seen the movie yet or not before reading that analysis. I haven't, but I really want to rent it now, along with sequel.

This is also getting me thinking... I have to put in cameo guest star for Trevor Moorehouse if I write another season of my "Horror Talk" skits! I know I that I want to another skit where Jason goes back to Crystal Lake. I could have Trevor Moorehouse (great name!) also be there to pick on Jason's "victims"... Jason will get angry and show him whose boss! Hell, maybe I'd even let Scully cameo guest star as the teenager that knows about the Trevor Moorehouse legend!

SPOILERS...SPOILERS...

I just rented "Bloody Murder" and its sequel...wow, I didn't think I would ever say this but..."Bloody Murder" was not so bad. Acting is subjective, and although a lot of it, along with the dialogue, sucked, it wasn't completely horrible. The "actors" didn't always come off natural, but they tried. I didn't think the murders were so cheap either, they were decent.

But, all those technicality flaws and mistakes you went over in your the analysis...most of them don't I didn't even recognize or notice along the way. Most of them you would only notice if you freeze-framed every single scene and I didn't want to do that.

However I will defend the scene where Whitney and Tobey are locked in the locker. A la your analysis...They were only in there for a brief moment and the camera never panned close enough to the actors to identify goosebumps.

Okay, so this is obviously a ripoff of "Friday The 13th." However, I can't account for the hockey mask. Jason's mask only covered up his face. Trevor wore a mask that covered up his face along with most of the his head. Different masks.

But, you know, it was funny to watch the movie and figure out the ripoff references anyway. This movie...it was harmless. It was nothing but a "safe" cliched horror whodonit. so, although I don't think its as bad as many are making it out to be, I don't think its great either. It's plot is very generic to follow though, because the directing was nothing but straight-forward. And still, some acting really sucks and the "characters" don't come off natural half of the time. But, the deaths I thought were okay for low budged horror like this.

Admittedly also, there were some really stupid scenes. Drew's gift to Julie. Julie's dad grabbing the ore for no reason, than Drew just taking it from him. Drew acting suspicous for no other reason than to appear to be the killer. And, I know there's others I'm forgetting. All those awkward "bonding" scenes between Julie and Drew (get a room already! I don't mind, I like to watch!)

But, there are still some obvious mistakes that you can clearly see in regular motion, like dummies falling from the tree and the chainsaw not running despite noise.

Of all things, I thought the whodonit made sense. It only could have been Patrick a.k.a. Nelson Hammond. The only reason the realization scene came off bad is because of the lousy and cliched lines Nelson had to spew. He should have something better to say after all the "bloody" work he had to do.

But, it is still a cheesy and stupid flick, I can name worse ways to kill time. I can only give it ** out of 4.

*is it just me, or did Dean remind of you Ash The Evil Dead?

The sequel was much better. Mostly decent acting, cool death scenes, more fun to watch directing, it was just better. Not great, just a decent movie. However, it plays a lot like a remake to the original. It lifts nearly every plot point from the original "Bloody Murder":

-The heroine's boyfriend "dry humps" another girl while another guy catches them but doesn't say anything.
-the boyfriend is considered a suspect.
-the camp owner is widely considered a potential suspect.

*strange that camp owner in the sequel is named "Rick," whereas the camp owner in the original was "Patrick."

But, it was a decent movie. The death scenes stood out, especially the black guy's. When we see Trevor charge for him as the lights in the bathroom continuously flicker on and off...cool effect.

I also appreciated the whodonit. I don't know about the rest of you, but I thought it was clever twist that added to the Trevor Moorehouse legend...especially when the real Trevor Moorhouse finally shows up!

It's strange, in both movies, they go over the legend of Trevor Moorehouse, but he never shows up until the end of the second one. Or, so we're led to beleive... Do you realize that they could make a neverending series out of these movies? At the end of the first one, we're led to believe that the real Trevor Moorehouse showed up to kill Jason. Of course if you saw the sequel... so if the guy at the end of sequel isn't Trevor either, it could be the next random person with a motive in line for part 3...and part 4...and 5...

But, while hoping that they stick with just two, I give the superior sequel **1/2.

Scully1888
02-11-2005, 02:12 PM
Don't worry about it Duke, there are actually a few people who not only like Bloody Murder, but love it.

There was actually a Bloody Murder site doing the rounds for a while but that seems to have closed now.

I agree with you in terms of the second film though, it was much better and had the two slasher ingredients that the first was sorely lacking in (tits and realistic gore).

02-11-2005, 09:22 PM
Aye, TCM 4 would be quite a struggle.

Duke, my feelings for Bloody Murder aren't pure hatred, it's very hard to explain. I have no hard feelings toward the film, I just think it's so hilariously bad I have to mock it.

I suppose it's a love-mock relationship.

And Mack, as for doing an analysis for BM2, like I said before it's unfortunately too good to analyse. It's got a couple of cheesy moments (such as the God-awful computer security camera scenes) but other than that it has the tits and it has the gore, two elements which were substituted with poor alternatives in the first (dry-humping and jam-like blood).

TCM4's an idea though... maybe once my exams are finished... I'd like to go back to my Camp Blood 2 one first... never did get past the first chapter in that. It's kicking about the boards somewhere.

Just t let you guys know, I'm working on an updated version of the analysis to go on my site, with screenshots and animated gifs to illustrate the film as much as possible.

So everyone who can't get (or don't want to buy) a copy can at least see what's going on.

Here's an example of the animation quality - Julie's (accidental) fall near the end when she's being chased by Patrick (593 kb, give it time to load):

I'd consider writing an in-depth anaysis of TCM 4, because it would be fun to write something creative again. However, I don't know if I should do it on the cut 84 minute version or any unrated versions that still might be available (that's if anybody has a copy of the 95 minute version).

I don't know about "House of The Dead." I completely understand why people hate it and rip it shreds, but I mildly (I said mildly) enjoyed its over-the-top/so-bad-its-good manner. When I saw it `03, I gave it ** out of 4 stars. I don't love it, nor do I want to see it again, but I do understand why you schmoes dislike it. I don't think I'm qualified to tear it apart.

I do think TCM 4 is a much, much worse and inferior movie. It's one of few movies I truly dislike along with TCM 2.

I hate to say it, but I think this thread had died, just like the "THE OFFICIAL FREDDY VS. JASON THREAD" thread. Nothing never lasts forever.

Nah, I beg to differ. This thread is the zombie of the messageboards...no matter what you do, it will never die.

Well, a gunshot to the head would do it, but that's a bit extreme...

Hey mods, can we just have this stickied? :D

A thread of this calibur deserves to be preserved.

This may be the only thread on the horror boards that will never die?

This thread will probably out live the franchise! Can you call it a franchise yet! It does only have 2 films but does have a fanbase for a 3rd!

Fuuuucking hell, is this STILL going?

This thread started over FIVE years ago!

Psychocandy told me that it had been resurrected so I had to see for myself to see if it was true.

I've always meant to do another one folks, but back in may I because the staff writer for the Official Nintendo Magazine UK, so I'm too busy playing Wii games just now to start a new one. One day though. :)

There are 4 Bloody Murder fan-scripts in the works -
3: Trevor Lives
4: Camp Moorehouse (55-pages short version to be extented)
5: Bloody Movie
6: Bloodier Murder (100-pages written)

One guy is co-writer on all 3-scripts so they follow each other pretty well. (3 ends with the camp being closed down, 4 is at the abandoned summer camp, a scene in 3 is a backstory for a character in 4, 2 surivors of 4 appear in 5).

If Lionsgate would read stuff submitted by writers instead of just agents then they would have a whole line of sequels ready to go but oh no! They're losing out on alot of money!

They should Definately make more of these movies.

Two of my favorite Terrible horror movies, they're so fun to watch.

Awesome Thread BTW, i've been laughing my ass off for days.

I just got done reading this thread for the third time in the past few years and it honestly does not get old. I'd love for Scully to be able to one day do another one of these.

BTW there is an LA Rock Gym and that number is real.

So I finally got the chance to watch Bloody Murder last night...and wow is it bad.

I'm serious...a friend and I went through the 'special features' and the largest amount of movies that any of the main cast had been in was four.

I seriously think if they'd casted me I could have done a better job!

*semi-spoiler*

It has now become a running joke between me and my friend Linda that Julie sounds like E.T. when she falls off the rope swing and says, 'Ouch.'

...only E.T. was a better actor. :D

Yes the movie is bad - but the amount of films any of theactors have been in before is nothing to do with anything in the film!

I didn't say that it did...Jamie Lee Curtis OWNED in Halloween.

But after seeing the film you can tell WHY none of these people have been in more than four movies.

This was a pretty bad movie and the sequel was just as bad as the first. Now a 3rd film is coming out? All I can say is WHY???

Mosley
01-28-2007, 01:18 PM
1* the first was bad but by NO stretch of the imagination was the 2nd as bad

2* there isn't a third movie coming out Bloodier Murder is just a badass fan-fic superior to both movies

No man no offence intened - it's just that 1 and 2 wee very different - it's fine to think both are 10 out of 10 bad but you have to admitt 1 is ALOT worst than 2 :)

Like Zack De La Rosa said, "Make your move to plead the 5th if you can't plead the 1st!"

I don't have to admit jack sh*t. :D

(Late reply I know but) don't you mean zack De La RoCHa? I think it's more a case of you not knowing jack sh*t rather than having to admit it.

If you go to www.simplyscripts.com you can read BLOODIER MURDER by myself and Justin DiFebo (planned to be part 6 of the series if I can get some cash and buy the rights - loooong way off but still)

Yeah, hard to believe it's 10 whole years since the first one came out now, almost 10 for BM2 too. I wish I still had my original video of it even though I have it on DVD, it would take me back better and make me feel young again.
