Some of us Schmoes have married, I'm sure.
Some plan on marrying, I'm sure.
Some are gonna be the biggest pimp soon enough, I'm sure.
Anyway, what was your wedding song? If you're not married, what would you like to be your wedding song?
I'll be back soon enough with my responce.

Fuck, I'm not married, only 14 but if I had to pick two I'd pick:
for dancing = "You never can tell" by CHUCK BERRY
slow song = "Layla(the piano exit)"
Annie Hall
03-16-2003, 02:54 AM
Well, the first dance would go to: In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel
but other songs played, would include:
All my Lovin-Beatles
Tiny Dancer-Elton John
Crush-DMB
Beyond the Sea-Bobby Darin
Perfect Day-Lou Reed
The Letter-The Boxtops
and
Come What May-Moulin Rouge
BakeTheMooCow

I know I'll never get married, but ideally my wedding song would be The Cure - Lovesong or Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around
Erin123
03-16-2003, 05:14 AM
The nice classical bit would be something of Mahler
A few slow dancing type ones would be:
Fields of Gold - Sting
All I Want is You - U2
In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel
Time After Time - Eva Cassidy
and then, later on (if ya know what I mean ;) ;) ;))
I Burn For You - Sting
Lover Lay Down - DMB
Love and Affection - Joan Armatrading
wow, that's a big list  ....but ya know...it's cool to think about :)

Just to show you how old I am and how long I've been married, my wife and I danced to "My Cup Runneth Over" by Ed Ames (he of the famous tomahawk chop on the Johnny Carson show).
Does any body know that song?
And why is this question on a MOVIE board?

I picked mine and if you lot laugh then I shall be very irked. The song is:
Pietro Mascagni - Cavalleria Rusticana
Some of you may know it from The Godfather (the final piece of classical music in part III) or from the opening sequence of Raging Bull.

Well, Mrs Fett and I had our first dance to Tony Bennett's The Way You Look Tonight (to be traditional), and then followed it with We're In This Together by Nine Inch Nails, which not only relected our taste in music, but was exactly the sentiment we felt!
"The farther I fall, I'm beside you
As lost as I get, I will find you
The deeper the wound, I'm inside you
Forever and ever I'm a part of you...."
A slightly dark way of expressing it, but it gets the message across! :)

My wedding is this October and I've been really pushing for a Halloween theme but I'm losing the battle :( but I'll still have a few things that my friends will appreciate (and expect from me)
For the Groom/Bridal party entry either:
Once Upon Atrocity - Cradle of Filth -It's an intrumental, almost orchestral, nobody will be the wiser ;)
or
Orchestral Sinsations - Lords of Acid - Another instrumental, again none will be the wiser
For our dance it will be Peter Gabriel's - In Your Eyes, I've special reuqested it at several weddings we've been to the past few years.
Oddly enough she wants to do the Macarana(sp) to Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses Song :D

Well, here I am going on 8 years....hmmmm...let's see if I can remember that far back.
Just Kidding.
The old man and I danced to 'Thank You' by Tori Amos and 'Groove
Me' by King Floyd...it was great!
My brother and I danced to 'Into the Mystic' by Van Morrison which of course made me all teary-eyed. He gave me away because daddy wasnt in the picture at the time.
Other songs we chose were 'The Sound of her Laughter' by Sugartooth, 'And I Love You So' by Don Mclean, and 'Blue Spanish Skies' by Chris Issak. We also had some 'Ain't That a Kick in the Head' by Dean Martin...the quintessential wedding song. :p

Hey, when I say I want Denis Leary's "Asshole" to be my wedding song, I mean it!

Most of my real choices have already mentioned (especially "Come What May" from MOULIN ROUGE). I'd also put in "Angel" by Sarah MacLachlan, "Waltz #2" by Elliott Smith, and "This Must Be the Place" (Naive Melody) by Talking Heads...and then Mr. Leary.
