10 Things I Hate About You vs. She's All That

She's All That (6/10) isn't that bad but it isn't that good either. It definitley doesn't deserve some of the bad word it has floating around it. 10 things I Hate About You (8/10) on the other hand is actually one of the better "teen movies" of the 1990s. I easily give my vote to 10 Things I Hate About You.

I wasn't too impressed with SHE'S ALL THAT the first time I saw it, but then it grew on me. After seeing it a couple of times, it got a 7/10 (B-) from me. But that movie has gotten cheesier and cheesier and more annoying. I think I'd probably have to change my grade to a 6/10 (C+).

10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU (8/10 or B+) is definitely one of the better teen movies of the 90's, thanks in large part to the very enjoyable performance by Julia Stiles. However, even this one gets less enjoyable after seeing it a few times. But I'll still stick with the same rating, since it's still really good, I'm just sick of it.

My vote goes to the MUCH better 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU!

10 Things I Hate About You was the better of the two, though I would not say by much.

Is it just me or is the tournament heavy with movies in the last 5 years?

Where's Fraternity Vacation?

Decent mix of films though

No problem Horror Whore! It was my pleasure ;)...

But man, that match-up is sure a quick way to get rid of LOST & DELIRIOUS! I love both, but I love one of them a lot more, and it's technically the better film as well. Plus, it looks like it will be the underdog in that match, so it will definitely get my vote.

Bring It On vs.

Summer Catch

http://i.imdb.com/Photos/Ss/0234829/kit7.jpg

Wow! This is a really hard match, not. Bring It On (8/10) was suprisingly good. Summer Catch has Freddie Prinze Jr. and that usually means the movie is really crappy. I haven't seen Summer Catch but I'm sure it's worse than Bring It On so my vote easily goes to Bring It On.

Man, this is such a tough match. What should I choose!? A fun cheerleading movie with hottie Kirsten Dunst? Or a lame teen baseball romance movie with cheeseball Freddie Prinze Jr.? Hmm, I think I'll have to go with the first one.

BRING IT ON (8/10 or B+) easily gets my vote. SUMMER CATCH (5/10 or C) wasn't really boring, but it was so cheesy and the romance part of the story sucked. Wait a minute, the baseball part of the story sucked too. The whole thing pretty much didn't work for me. Hell, if the two wouldn't have gotten together in the movie, I wouldn't have even cared. Talk about zero chemistry. They'll probably just break-up the next day anyway. And then Jessica Biel's character will find out she's pregnant with Freddie Prinze Jr.'s character's kid and she will have fucked up her life and he will be paying child support. It's a good thing her parents are rich, because then they can support her while she stays home watching daytime TV with the kid. Or maybe her parents can watch the kid for her so she can go out and find another guy to impregnate her. I really wouldn't doubt that's what happened after the movie ended. Movies with a romance angle should usually leave you feeling like it will work out between them, but I didn't think that here at all. They won't last, and I don't care because they had no connection and I didn't feel the need for them to be together. If the movie wouldn't have been mildly entertaining, then it would have gotten a worse grade from me.

Wow! This is the third round with Freddie Prinze Jr. movie! I'm really sorry about that. Anyways, I'm one of the few people who actually liked Not Another Teen Movie (7/10). I never got around to seeing Down To You, but I've heard from basically everyone I know who saw it that it is a train wreck of a movie. I'll probably end up never seeing it, oh well. I really enjoyed NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE (7/10 or B-). I thought it was a funny spoof on teen movies. It lost a little steam towards the end, but it was still really funny. I just love the part where Jamie is throwing paint all over her canvas and then we see that it's a stick figure. And she says "it's my mother." LOL! I found that too funny...

DOWN TO YOU (2/10 or F) was HORRIBLE!!! I absolutely HATED it. I rented it the first week it came out on video, never expecting it to be as terrible as it was. I can't imagine anyone liking it. The only saving grace was Julia Stiles, and even she can't save this absolute MESS! Sure, it's definitely different than a lot of the teen movies that came out around the same time, but this movie actually made me want one of those cliched un-original teen movies. I remember wanting to see it in theaters, but THANK GOD I didn't. And what was that crap about Freddie Prinze Jr.'s character drinking her shampoo because he missed her!? That was just fucking stupid! I could understand smelling it, but what the hell good is drinking it going to do!? You certainly won't be able to smell it once it's gone. DOWN TO YOU is one of the very worst of 2000. Ugh! This movie just pisses me off!!!

Oh, by the way, NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE easily gets my vote!

I really enjoyed SCARY MOVIE 2 (7/10 or B-). Anna Faris made the movie. Her hilarious performance was great. I love how she's not afraid to make a fool of herself. It may not have been as excellent as the first one, and it definitely felt rushed, but it was still a lot of fun.

I saw DRIVE ME CRAZY (6/10 or B-) at the cheap theater back in 1999. I thought it was pretty decent. But since I haven't seen it for awhile, I have a feeling my grade could change to a 6/10 (C+).

EMPIRE RECORDS was alright, but it didn't really have much of a story. It's been awhile since I've seen it, but I'd probably either give it a 7/10 (B-) or a 6/10 (B-)...

CAN'T HARDLY WAIT (7/10 or B-) was pretty entertaining. It has a pretty fun soundtrack and some nice performances by Lauren Ambrose (HBO's Six Feet Under), Ethan Embry (Sweet Home Alabama), and Jennifer Love Hewitt (Heartbreakers)...

Ahhhh! This match is so hard at me, both movies are really good. I don't know why I paired American Pie (8/10) with Crazy/Beautiful (8/10). This is so hard for me..... I guess I'll vote for American Pie because it has Seann William Scott.... :D

I really disliked "American Pie" (4/10). I thought it was stupid, unfunny, and lame. Oddly, I LOVE the sequel. Hmmm. I am voting for "Crazy/Beautiful" (8/10) a beautiful film. In fact, I would never call it a teen film. It can have emotional impact on anyone, in my opinion. Not to mention it has Kirsten Dunst's second best performance!

I totally agree with you, at least about CRAZY/BEAUTIFUL. I actually enjoyed AMERICAN PIE (8/10 or B+) quite a bit, but it's not a movie I can watch a bunch of times. I thought the sequel was better, quite a bit better actually. I swear I'll probably end up lowering my grade for the first AMERICAN PIE one of these days.

Anyway, there's no contest between these two. CRAZY/BEAUTIFUL (9/10 or A-) is an excellent film with teens that doesn't even deserve to be called a teen movie. It's definitely one of the better ones anyway. It was smart, serious, beautiful, well acted, and very touching. It's just plain GREAT. In my opinion, Kirsten Dunst gave her best performance yet in this movie.

Screw AMERICAN PIE, CRAZY/BEAUTIFUL is the much better "film." I could certainly watch CRAZY/BEAUTIFUL more times than I could watch AMERICAN PIE. It's a realistic and touching film that deserves to beat AMERICAN PIE. If it doesn't, I'll be pissed, because AMERICAN PIE can't even compare to it.

CRAZY/BEAUTIFUL easily gets my vote!

Never Been Kissed (8/10 or B+) was very cute! But DROP DEAD GORGEOUS (8/10 or A-) is a fucking drop dead HILARIOUS dark comedy. I laughed my ass off throughout the whole thing, my god was it funny. I think I was actually sore when I left the theater because I had laughed so much. Sometimes I couldn't even hear the dialogue though because the theater was packed and everyone was laughing so loud non-stop. I don't think much time would go by without someone or everyone laughing. What a great time! This is one time where I probably could have died of laughter from a movie. It's such an underrated dark comedy.

BULLY was alright, but it didn't get that good until the second half. There's so many things I could pick on this movie for, because it's very flawed, but there's just way too many things to name. I actually felt sleazy after watching it. I originally gave it a 7/10 (B-), but I might actually lower it because it wasn't that great. A lot of things about it just disgusted me. But since it's probably better than KIDS, I'll give my vote to BULLY.
