I luuuuuurve 'em.

Which one do you dig???

Okay, I'm using AMERICAN and BRITISH one hitter's, so a couple of these may have scored one or two other TINY hits...but even so, they faded off into obscurity pretty friggin' quick.

Just have a VOTE.

I LOVE the German version of 99 Luftballoons.

But how about Come on Eileen? Dexy's midnight Runners.

I voted for 99 Luftballoons too. It's my favorite 80's song. Come On Eileen was a good one too.

Dexy's Midnight Runners had bloody TONNES of hits in the UK mate...I've gone for ONE-HIT WONDERS that suit both the limey's and you Yank's...and EVERY other bloke and their mother hopefully.

I'm being diplomatic...I'm a real giver at heart.

Oooooh, Dexy's were massive here.

Come On Eileen - No.1
Geno - No.1
Jackie Wilson Said - No.5
There There My Dear - No.7
Because Of You - No.13
Show Me - No.16
Let's Get This Straight - No.17

And LOADS more besides.

Greb, you are a philistine mate...don't believe all you see on friggin' VH1, they forget about us Brits when it comes to the polls...tossers...;)

Anyway, I've gone with good old Minnie Riperton.

La la la la la...
La la la la la...
La la la la la-ah...la la la la-ah-ah...
Doo roo doo roo doo-oo...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Only one hit in the U.S. I believe, and it was his cover of "All Along the Watchtower".

Also :

Four Non-Blondes "What's Going On?"

Imani Coppola "Legend of a Cowgirl"

Skeelo "I Wish"

I wouldn't call Georgey Boy a one hit wonder...suffice to say he didn't have hundreds of hits outside of Culture Club...but he didn't bomb.

Everything I Own and Bow Down Mister didn't fare too badly...and WITH Culture Club you've got an abundance of hits...Victims, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, Karma Chameleon, Church Of The Poison Mind and a good few more.

PS: Yep Grebbers...we're quite the creative ones when we take of our flat caps and put down the smoking pipes...:)

Tough call here, I've narrowed it down to two from the "other" category. The aforementioned "Safety Dance" and "Cars" by Gary Newman. I guess I'll have to go with Cars, because of the cool eighties techno beat.

Dammit! I wanted to say that, but couldn't remember the name.

My ex-wife roped me into doing that on our honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta. Long before it became popular up here.

Jack Wagner - "All I Need". They used to play this song all the time when I was a kid. Now it gets no acknowledgement at all with all that circus competition... makes you wonder whether "alternative" music appeared in the 90's or DISappeared in the 90's.
