I was listening to fourth time around by Bob Dylan, and one part struck me.
"I said, "Your words aren't clear,
You'd better spit out your gum."
She screamed and her face got so red
Then she fell on the floor,
And I covered her up and then
Thought I'd go look through her drawer."

does he kill her at this part? it sounds like it.

wouldn't doubt it.. Dylan's got some Serrrious whiteboy hangup on the old Bluesy Murder songs that were VERRRY common before WWII. Considering some of the more GRAPHIC stuff put on wax, its a a shock to see how popular -and influential- alot of them were in the White community!

Most of the performers of the period were played out as murderes, rapists, outlaws etc. Leadbelly was actually BILLED in chicago as the "knife toting Negro"! It attracted crowds that gave them the kind of Legendary persona that Dylan....Zimmerman.. always wanted.
