For anyone who doesn't know, all prints of DREAMCATCHER this coming weekend will also feature one part of the 9 short films that will make up THE ANIMATRIX, an anime project conceived by the Wachowski brothers.
The 11-minute short film is entitled FINAL FLIGHT OF THE OSIRIS, and you can read my entire review of it here (http://www.joblo.com/dreamcatcher.htm#animatrix).
I've opened up this specific thread so that anyone who sees the film and wants to share their thoughts with everyone, can do so right here! Enjoy and oh yeah...if anyone can find a nice pic of that Asian chick's ass on the Net and slap it into this thread...I'll owe you a buck... ;)

I don't think I will stick around to see this 11 minute short. It looks okay, but I think I will skip it.

Sorry, but this Animatrix title keeps reminding me of Hedwig lyrics...
Anyway, putting this short in front of Dreamcatcher is certainly gonna boost its opening weekend. Didn't a trailer for The Phantom Menace inflate Meet Joe Black's debut?
I have no interest in either The Matrix sequels or Dreamcatcher, but I'm probably in the minority here...

I'll definitely be seeing "Dreamcatcher" tommorow and I MAY stick around for this short. I do love "The Matrix" (10/10), but this whole anime thing does not turn me on, and I was not impressed by Square's work in "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" (4/10). Their hairs may move wonderfully, but there is something wrong with them. They never clear their throats, scrath their head, or squirm in their seats to be more comfortable. They were like robots with measured movements that had skin put on them. Anywho, if I do stick around to see FFOTO, I'll def. post a short review here.

Final Flight of the Osiris TRAILER (http://countingdown.com/theater/trailers_clips/detail/2973042/)
This Anime will kick some ass IMO. It may not be the coolest thing ever, but it sure rocks if it comes with another movie, and hopefully Reloaded trailer.
BTW, can anyone confirm that?! *Reloaded trailer being attached to DREAMCATCHER*?
p.s. - JoBlo, here's as close as i can get to her ass being online so far :)

I saw this short before Dreamcatcher today, and it really didn't do much for me.....
I didn't get a RELOADED trailer in front of it though.....although the theater I went to is famous for not showing the same things as every other theater in AZ....

And the SHORT is shown before Dreamcatcher...so unless u purposely wanna be late for the actual movie there is no way in avoiding it.
I didnt get the ending.
SPOILERS
Well I assume when she mailed or whatever it was into the mailbox the mission was done. And to get back someone has to physically assist you back. And the short showed whats his name but he was pre-occupied. OK question was it accomplished or the mission foiled? Or is the ending supposed to leave you drawing ur own conclusion?
No Matrix (The Movie) Sequel trailer shown at this theatre either.

I just saw this before Dreamcatcher and all I can say is awesome animation!?!
Animatrix was pretty pointless IMO, however I did enjoy the fight scene at the first ....... and yes Jo, she has a SWEET ass! ;)
I honestly didn't really get the point of the Animatrix. I can hardly even remember what The Matrix was about, so that could have been the problem for me.

I quite enjoyed this animated short, except for the fight at the beginning...It seemed pointless to me and just for the purpose of showing off how real they could make them look, and show off her nice ass...
Once it got out of this scene though, I enjoyed it....and I pretty much expect that the mission was accomplished...
I may just have a soft spot for things where the good guys all heroically die trying to save other people...

I checked this thing out before Dreamcatcher...And while I am just as excited as the next person about the next 2 Matrix movies, the last 2 Animatrix shorts have been pretty disappointing. I've only found something to enjoy in the first animated short...And after checking out the trailer for the whole DVD that will be coming out this June, I am pretty sure there are going to be some other shorts definitely worth checking out. But "Final Flight" basically solidified what I already thought of Square Studios work...Amazing visuals...There were a few scenes featuring close-ups of Thadeus that were just insanely impressive...But little to no story...I mean I understand this was just 10 minutes long, but it almost seemed like just a showcase for where computer animationg can go. But I did enjoy seeing a digital ass...Almost lost my digital load....And for that comment I am sorry.

I saw this before "Dreamcatcher" and I thought it stunk. I am a huge fan of "The Matrix" (10/10), but this short lost all of the source film's philosphy. It was just a cheap way for Square to show off. The characters were wooden, and the story was just crap. The visuals were amazing, though. This is all style and no substance. I've seen infomercials with more depth!

Not a big deal... but though i'd point it out, there's a hidden messege in the banners of these pictures which i assume are in the FFOTO short.

It says whatisthematrix.com I think it's sort of cool cause it blends in with the coding next to it. At least they didn't put something not appropriate like Disney films always do lol.

The visuals were amazing.
What else should I expect in an 11 minute short film?
It was very cool, and the black guy's close-ups looked as real as I imagine we'll ever see.

That's basically what I thought of this. Yeah, the animation was amazing, but what the hell was up with the girl getting uncothed during the fight scene at the beginning? It was like some 12 year olds wet dream.
Going into the theatre I was expecting this short to have something to do with the actual Matrix films. Guess I was wrong.
