Sorry if this topic has been brought up in the past but I must know. I bought Being John Malkovich on DVD the other day and was checking out the special feature section and came across the interview with Spike Jonze. For those of you who have seen it, is he really sick or is it just a skit? I've heard that Spike Jonze is out there but that's a pretty strange interview to post as a special feature on the DVD. /ubb/confused.gif

Well look at his movie. His personality reflects his work. I for one think he's close to genius.

Yeah, I agree that he probably doesn't think like the average person, but is he really yacking in that interview or was that staged?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't staged...

Me thinks Spike Jonze likes to mess with people's heads. Remember the video for "PRAISE YOU" for Fatboy Slim that he directed? Well, he's the "leader" of that so-called dance group, and when he accepted the MTV award, he acted like that same guy accepting his award.

I don't know, I guess it's supposed to be funny or something, but I just don't get it.

I DO think that he's an awesome director though. Love all his music videos, including Bjork's musical thingie, the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage" and Daft Punk's little ditty with that walking-talking dog.

You know what they say, most geniuses are eccentric. Chalk this dude up to that!

hmm, yeah, Spike Jonze is pretty weird. For the whole Fatboy Slim video, he wrote up a whole CV which he submitted to the record execs and created a completely different alter ego, Richard Koufay, a proffesional dance instructor with Broadway experience. That's him in the video, dancing like a jack ass. The video won numerous MTV awards and to this day, he denies ever being involved in the "Praise You", saying: "Why do you keep asking me that, ask Richard Koufay!".

he's a little "out there".

I'm sure the barf scene is real, another thing to mess with our heads.

I didn't know he directed "Sabotage".

I had no idea that was him in the Praise You video. Having directed Being John Malkovich, I wonder what he will come up with next.

And hopefully some of the bigger contributers to this board like Myself, HomerSimpson, Packbacker, TheNuke, Scarface, and The Arrow can get bit parts or even supporting roles.

If nobody else will I'm up to doing that for the greater good of a film. I just hope I don't have to have sex with John Malkovich thru JoBlo's mind.
