K this topic may be a bit late but I just once again saw a TV spot four this IMO AWFUL "war" movie. It showed of course the usual misleading clips of gun fighting and action. But worse than that they're showing this shot of the CG jets soaring through a mass of ground explosion. These really WOW boo ya clips that would sucker some folks into seeing this lame ass picture. Folks like myself.

Now in no way would the insertion of these shots have saved the cold trite mess that tears of the sun came to be, but ffs I almost feel cheated. Those shots are no where to be seen. Just a rather pathetic wide shot of some pussy explosions. Anyone else notice this?

Sounds like a rant u have here. I myself saw the movie when it came out opening week. True yes, a 30 second spot does entice u to get u to see the movie but yes clips seen in the trailer majority of the time is nowhere to be found in the actual movie. Many reasons either they ended up on the cutting room floor & gets used as deleted scences for the DVD. Tears of The Sun wasnt overall bad nor great either. The movie takes awhile to get going in the first portion but from when Willis & entourage must stay alive when they are on their own I think is great action flick IMO.

I loved the film myself. I gave it a 9/10 and think it's the best of 2003 thus far. Can't wait for the DVD.

wait...what? What they show in the trailer is usually not in the movie? ...I'm sorry but uh, no, actually what u regularly see in trailers or tv spots appears in the film. I rarely catch a clip that's edited from the movie it's self. It can happen though. Just lame is all.
