The Se7en DVD is kinda like a Laserdisc. You have to flip it over half way through the film. Why is that?

Hey Silent Bob,
I was kinda pissed to find out that when I bought Se7en a few months to go, that you had to flip the disc in order to watch the whole movie. The reason I dig DVD's is so that you don't have to get up and flip the disc, there's so much more storage capacity available.
Here's the story. When David Fincher shot the film, he was purposely aiming for darker tones. In order to convert such dark shots to DVD, it requires more space, hence the need for two sides of the disc. They released it before they developed dual layer technology for DVD's. In orde to faithfully reproduce the film, they used two sides. Accorduing to our friends at New Line Cinema, they'll be re-releasing Se7ven as a dual disc set (October-November), under the Platinum Series, which should feature all kinds of extras and goodies, kinda like the Laser Disc the put out 3-4 years ago. It should be amazing. Although I am a little bit pissed that I have to shell out another 30 bucks to get the "whole" deal. Oh well. Hope that helps.
