I just noticed that "The Dead Zone" and "Pet Cemetary" finally got released this week on DVD and started thinking about King films on DVD...

I know these are on DVD, but what about the rest...

- "Carrie"
- "Christine"
- "Thinner"
- "Misery"
- "The Shining"
- "The Green Mile"
- "The Shawshank Redemption"
- "The Tommyknockers"
- "The Stand"
- "Salem's Lot
- "Creepshow"

...anyhow, I have always been a fan of King and was wondering if anybody has any new info on King films, DVD, etc...

the only thing I know is that they are working on a film of "Desperation" that should be out in 2001...

it will be directed by Mick Garris who directed:

- "The Shining" TV Series
- "The Stand" TV Series
- "Sleepwalkers"
- "Psycho IV: The Beginning" TV
- "Critters 2"
- "Tales From The Crypt" TV series
- "Freddie's Nightmares" TV Series
- "Amazing stories" TV series

...it's hard to tell from that resume whether or not it will be any good...

It also really gets to me that none of King's DVDs have any extras...maybe a trailer...that's it...

Carrie deserves a special edition to at least match the extras they stuck on the DVD of the sequel... sorry, but "8-page booklet" doesn't cut it, MGM!

Don't forget Mick Garris also directed series pilot/straight-to-video flick Quicksilver Highway with Christopher Lloyd, which I thought was a lot of fun - not least because alongside the Steven King short Chattery Teeth, it also included a cool black comedy version of Cliver Barker short The Body Politic
