is there going to be a thin redline special edition or directors cut or anything longer out on dvd?

...it looks doubtful doG...if you look at Terrence Malick's (the director) track record for DVD releases, you will see "Badlands" and "Days Of Heaven"...two films with no extras or special anything. Then again "The Thin Red Line" was the first film he made in 20 years ("Days Of Heaven" 1978 / "The Thin Red LIne" 1998), maybe it will get some special treatment, but the DVD version out now is probably the only one we will get for years...

hi,
the Thin Red Line is out in the states cos I bought it but its only on Region 1 which means that it won't play on our players with out any modification, to be honest I thought it was quite disappointing really, it just to long!!!!!!!!

To the Sheriff Of Nottingham and Sir Hiss - I think the question was referring to ANOTHER release. Yes, it has been released, and yes I own it but it is not a special edition of any kind...just the movie and a couple basic features...

Neomasteruk - There is a region 2 DVD release too, and it's identical to the US region 1 version...
