Is there any sport us schmoes play. I know good 'ol James Logan is a basketball player. So, tell us..

I am a goalie for hockey. Although I haven't played this year. Personal stuff, etc.

Damn, I thought you were kidding about that underwater hockey shite in an earlier thread; what the hell is it?

I mean I've heard of water polo, but water hockey. I believe you but I just can't imagine it...anyone else heard of this sport?

It must be hard to take a slapshot.;)

Fill me in...

I play Hockey, as well. I'm still fine-tuning my skating, but I can puckhandle and stuff. I play left wing, but I'm more of a grinder than a scorer.

I like my tennis, which means I've got nothing to keep me occupied in winter though (except the fire and a nice hot cup of tea ;) ).

Aye, when I was younger I was involved in lots of sports...gymnastics, basketball, bowling, softball, skiing, track, etc. But now that I'm a creaky old fart I just run.

Well...when I was younger I used to do:

Tennis, gymnastics, swimming, biking and jogging

But, now that it's become very clear that I will not be a 5'2 stick (I'm already 5'7ish)...gymnastics is outta the picture. So I:

Bike and (get ready for this entirely Cameron Crowe inspired move on my part)...kickbox :D

Well my knees are all fucked up for a while so I'm not playing that many sports lately but I do snowboard and play basketball. Once Track & Field starts I'm going to get into the javelin again...

I was part of the junior varsity basketball team this year. We got our asses kicked in the first game of the season, the other team beat us by 46 points.

Well you've got like a little mini-hockey stick you hold in your hand and there is a puk in the middle. It's not like you've got an enormous hockey stick and your smackin' it round underwater. You go down to the depths and hit in, not stay up the top.

There are three positions:

BACK
CENTRE
FORWARD

My school plays it so there is:

A left back
A right back
One centre
Two forwards
One striker

There are 6 players in the water at any one time. The striker goes for the puk and the forwards follow and go ahead for the pass. The backs stay at the back and protect the goal, kind of like two goalies. The centre backs up the forwards and keeps in the centre of the game.

Whenever a goal is scored, the team subs their players.

It's simple really! :) I am playing tonight, in about an hour, wish me luck!

Wow! I've never heard of such a thing. Sounds hard but fun! I hope you did good tonight!

As for me, I'm very athletic and strong. :p I'm a forward in basketball, and I pitch and play short stop in softball.

I decided not to play softball this year (WTF was I thinking?) and went out for track. I'm doing the discuss, javilin, and shot put. Although I suck horribly, and in practice we work our asses off! ugh.

I don't play any sports, so to stay in shape I run and bike. Though I only bike in the summer and fall.

Otherwise...I don't play a lot of sports, but I love to bike.

Pre knee injuries, I was very good at both basketball and real football.

Now, I wrap my knees up like a mummy, and try to not leave the ground when I play basketball.

I don't play any sports, except for golf. However, I haven't gone golfing for awhile. If I ever start again, my swing is going to be worth shit.... :D

Nowadays my main sports are drinking and playing armchair QB.

But back in the day, I was quite the swimmer (breast stroke) and cross country runner (until the knees gave out).

I also loved playing basketball and football.

Unfortunately I was never able to realize my full potential as a basketball player. It seems that no teams were interested in having a 6'0" power forward who cant dribble or shoot. But dammit I can play D on anybody!

I played soccer for 12 years throughout my youth up till senior year in high school. I don't play any sports for teams anymore, maybe a pick up game of basketball, wiffile ball, or football occasionally.

Yes he is, and a darn good one, too. :) Usually play at center cause I'm tall and physical and I can jump, but I play at the point in the money time. I want the last shot, so I take the ball from the start and just bring it to the hole each and every time until they stop me. And they usually can't. ;)
Logan's stats last season: 22.5 ppg -- 11.2 rpg -- 3 bpg

Other than that, I play all kinds of sports. I see myself as a sports man, I work out at home, I run a bit, I swim a lot, I play soccer, football, rugby, tennis, I'm just up for anythin'.

Dude, I've been more entertained watching actual crickets on my goddamn lawn than watching that "sport".;)

Strider my man...not only is your taste in movies excellent but I was thrilled to see you are a fellow golfer! I love to do it when I can which isn't often enough eventhough I may suck its still one of the best sports in the world. On top of that I love to watch golf on TV always have! I grew up a Nick Faldo fan and I am very much a Tiger Woods fan(I have tigers for head covers on my driver and 5 wood, lol) Go Tiger at this weeks Masters for the 3 peat! and fuck Martha Burke...comparing her crusade to the war in Irag sicken's me!

And will say that I used to play a ton of sports in my youth, when I lived in England I played football(soccer), cricket, field hockey, rugby, tennis and badminton.

When I moved to California I tried out for the high school soccer team...all we did was train and run and I said fuck that! I ended up playing badminton in high school though. I still do play some occasional tennis...and I have played baseball/softball and basketball for fun.

hey Strider one more thing...good on you mate for getting a 65 in the Oscar contest i got a 68 though:D ...but great minds do think alike.

Yeah, golf really is a great sport. I'm also not very good at playing it, but I love playing it anyway! I don't know about you, but there's something about golf that relaxes me. During the time I play it, I can escape the world. Basically, golf is a great form of escapism.

And the Tiger rules.... :D

I've been switching around all my life. During elementary school I played soccer and took swimming. During sixth grade, I did more soccer, lots of tennis and some football. In middle school, it was ice hockey (the most fun of all) and tennis. Absolutely nothing during high school and right now (college) I'm on kung fu (if you count that as 'a sport').

I wish I could go back to ice hockey as well.

I've played basketball and soccer my entire life. Still do. I'm pretty tall so that helps with both sports. I played flag football in college and for charity events. Baseball/Softball here and there.

I still play basketball, and have improved mightily since my last post in this thread. My outside shot's become deadly accurate, and I've built up quite a bit of muscle, which makes me pretty powerful inside. I'm going to try to walk on at my college this year, which I think I have a decent shot of doing. Wish me luck.

Paintball (rec (http://epikpaintball.com/) and scenarios (http://www.waynes-world.com/wd24event.html) ), Running (5k’s) and Orienteering (FLO (http://www.floridaorienteering.org/) and USOF (http://www.us.orienteering.org/)). Definitly not competitive in any of them, but have a great time participating in a few "events" a couple times a year.

It's addictive as hell, I love adrenalin (and shooting people and getting shot at; fucking made rush). At least once a year the wife lets me hit a 24hr scenario game in Ocala or NC etc. Camping+Paintball+24hrs+100’s of players = Mad fun.

I've been aching to do one of those full day/days scenarios with lots of people. Sadly I haven't found the right place to do so. Sounds like extreme fun.

OK, so I found out that my school was in the top 25 recruiting this year, so that rather downs my chances of walking on. On top of that, I played a pick-up game with the recruits a couple of days ago, and... let's just say... my pride has been hurt.
