Indiana Sev takes it. If I'm not mistaken, Housley is the highest scoring American defenceman ever, though.

Okay, I've got one. This one's going back a ways though, and you might have to reach for a hockey almanac or something, but here goes:

The NHL was formed in 1917, and since that time, two of those years an NHL team did not win the Stanley Cup. Name the two seasons this happened, and the reasons why.

horrorfreak13
01-06-2004, 03:52 PM
hmm...... lets see 1919 between the Montreal Canadiens and the Seattle (can't remember what they were called back then) when the series was tied 2-2-1 most of the members od both teams were infected with a inflenza flu virus and cancelled the rest of the cup final.

the other one was 1925 between Victoria and Montreal and I think Victoria was part of that PCHL or something like that where the NHL winner would play the PCHL winner.

Maybe Lemieux?

Montreal in '69 (Rejean Houle), '71 (The Flower) and '80 (Doug Wickenheiser). Quebec had first pick from '89-'91 (Mats Sundin, Owen Nolan and Eric 'Punck-drunk' Lindros). Finally, Ottawa had dibs on first in '93 (Alexandre Daigle), '95 (Bryan Berard) and in '96 (Chris Phillips).

I was looking for the Habs, anyways, since they had the most success.

(I dont know the answer yet, and will try to remember but...) I agree about not seeing him play more. I love underdogs and Montana, while certainly not neccesarily the most skilled QB, was a winner. Plain and simple. I am upset I was too yoing to really realize his ability to win .
