I dont know if there any Football Fans here .. I am a big Fan of the English Premiership and the Italian Seria A .. what teams do you support , which players do you like .. there seems to be no discussion about the football leagues , so lets talk about them
The Standings (League Tables) (http://stats.football365.com/tables.html)
I support AC Milan and Man United .. what about you ??

I support Milan too! (As for the Premiership I'm an Arsenal fan). Do you think we still have a shot at winning? Who are your favorite Milan and Serie A players?
What about the Champions League? Who do you think will win it?
Quarter final matchups are:
Valencia- Inter
Juve- Barcellona
Milan- Ajax
Real Madrid- Man Utd.
... BTW I don't understand why outside Italy people say AC Milan instead of Milan and InterMilan instead of Inter...

My Favourite player in Milan is Shevchenko , he is the best striker i have ever seen
well i want Man United to win the Champions League but i think Real Madrid is gonna get it

Because that's the way it's been taught to us. :)
I don't really follow the Serie A, but I do follow the British leagues...I'm a Chelsea fan myself. Looks like we might have a chance at a Euro-spot next year, since this year there has been more scorers for the team than just one guy. Hopefully next year we'll be even closer to the top spot.

I'm a big fan of Shevchenko too but this year he hasn't been doing very well... he's had a few injuries and is having problems finding a place in the starting 11... but then it would be wrong to take off Inzaghi because he's been scoring a lot of goals this season...
My predictions for the Champions League:
Milan- Ajax - Milan should (and hopefully will) get through fairly easily
Valencia- Inter - I hope Valencia wins (I hate Inter)
Juve- Barcelona - Juve would be my favorite, but it depends because they might choose to put more effort into the Serie A, which would favour Barcelona
Real Madrid- Man Utd. - too close to call... maybe Real
Semifinals:
Milan-Valencia - unfortunately I don't see us winning
Juve- Real - Real would win
Final: Valencia- Real (again) with yet another Real win...

I call AC Milan "Milan", and Inter Milan "Inter"! I think most people 'round here call them by these names.
I don't really follow Serie A any more. Since Channel 4 stopped showing live games on a Sunday afternoon.. bah.
Arsenal are a bunch of chimps, so I don't want them to win the league. Wenger is such a dour looking chimp. I'd like Man U to win the league, since I've always liked Man U and Sir Alex is a fellow Weegie.

In Serie A I've always been a Lazio fan...well ever since Gazza signed for them,
Shame whats happended to them. Doing quite well considering...drew too many matches.

This season has been pretty shitty for us, we've put in some good performances this season but it hasn't been working for us! Hopefully GT will use Allback and Vassell against Arsenal tomorrow and they can try and reproduce some of their midweek heroics. Things ain't going too good for us at the moment, we've got Arsenal, West Ham (who are fighting for survival and doing a good job of it!), Chelsea and Newcastle all coming up. We're gonna survive, but I ain't sure if we'll stay above Shitty City :(
deanus
04-04-2003, 09:42 AM
u neva no tho m8 lets put it like that!
my predictions:
ARSENAL = 0
WEST HAM = 3
CHELSEA = 1
SUNDERLAND = 3 (must win game)
NEWCASTLE = 0
LEEDS = 3
Just enough 2 keep us above BLUES and the drop!

I've just read that Joey Gudjonsson is gonna be in the squad tomorrow by the looks of things :) I see the rest of our season being something like this:
(H) Arsenal - 1 - If we put in a performance like we did against United then we may nick something
(A) West Ham - 3 - We beat them 4-1 at our place, and although they're looking good, we'll beat them again IMO
(H) Chelsea - 0 - We won't be able to stop them
(A) Newcastle United - 0 - See above...
(A) Everton - 1 - A 3-2 win back in September at our place was good for us, but playing at Goodison will be a toughie
(H) Sunderland - 3 - They're going down, we're not!
(A) Leeds United - 1 - Both teams fighting for survival, draw at Elland Road

Aston Villa v Arsenal
Aston Villa are boosted by the return of Joey Gudjonsson for their tough home clash with Arsenal.
The Iceland international has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury and a one-match ban but will now return.
However, Dion Dublin serves the second game of a three-match suspension.

Full Premiership Score Roundup:
Bolton Wanderers 2 - 0 Manchester City
Manchester United 4 - 0 Liverpool
Aston Villa 1-1 Arsenal
Charlton Athletic 1-6 Leeds United
Middlesbrough 3-0 West Bromwich Albion
Southampton 1-1 West Ham United
Sunderland 1-2 Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Birmingham City
Some shocks today! Leeds thumping Charlton 6-1 moves them into 14th, above Villa (who drew 1-1 with Arsenal) by goal difference only. Man United demolishing Liverpool, well I didn't see that one coming. The top two teams are so close right now, separated by goal difference (Arsenal +33, United +28) and they're facing off against each other very soon. The end to this season is going to be a good one, so close, and one mistake could cost either Arsenal or United dearly.
Oh, and I've got one final thing to say... Tottenham Hotspur 2 - 1 Birmingham City!! :D

Well I'm gonna grab a meat pie and add my few shillings worth as a Liverpool supporter I was very pissed off with the 4-0 loss.
I am not saying we wouldn't have lost but the ref should be boiled in oil he gave away a penalty against Biscan that left me seething.
He also sent Hypia when it should have been a yellow card......ARSEHOLE:mad: .
I don't espacily like Arsenal but they MUST pip Man U to the post I feel they will and then at the end of the season Liverpool can strengthen.
Hopefully everyone will write us off agian and we can pull the rug from under them...well here's hoping.

Ouch :(
I partly agree with you, at Goodison we didn't put in a vintage performance. There was a lot wrong: our central midfield was rarely in it and O'Brien a right-back WTH?
Not meaning to sound cliched but there was some shoddy refereeing and some bad sportsmanship: poor Bernard's lucky he can walk  It's a bad way to lose our title hopes, but our squad looks in good shape for next season :)
We still have to consolidate our CL's hopes and there's the small matter of thumping the Mackems in their backyard. Hopefully we'll end the season with some good performances :)
I still fancy Man U for the title: I think they'll bounce back from tonight's beating.

Premiership
Manchester United v Newcastle United
I would love to see Newcastle beat United at Old Trafford, it'd really put a smile back on my face and Newcastle's chances of winning the Prem would be right back on track. Unfortunately, I see Man United getting another win this week.
Verdict: Manchester United win
Birmingham City v Sunderland
Blues can be tough to crack, and bottom team Sunderland will really be up for this, but I see another win for the scum
Verdict: Birmingham Shitty win
Blackburn Rovers v Charlton Athletic
This is probably gonna be the least exciting match being played IMO, both teams will play a good game and Charlton are gonna wanna win after last week's 6-1 thrashing by Leeds, but Blackburn will be up to the challenge.
Verdict: Draw
Chelsea v Bolton Wanderers
Chelsea have had a pretty good season and are up in the top 5, whereas Bolton are fighting for survival. This is gonna be an easy game for Ranieri's side.
Verdict: Chelsea win
Leeds United v Tottenham Hotspur
Although Leeds are gonna be looking for another win after last weekend's 6-1 demolition of Charlton, Tottenham are also going to be going after another win after last week's defeat of Birmingham. This could be one of the better games of the weekend IMO.
Verdict: Tottenham win
Liverpool v Fulham
After suffering a 4-0 killing from Man United last weekend, Gerrard Houllier's Liverpool will want to take the pain out on whoever gets in their way. This weekend it's Fulham who are going to Anfield, they'll be leaving with nothing.
Verdict: Liverpool win
Manchester City v Middlesbrough
I've got a feeling that this is gonna be a pretty close match. Both teams are around the mid-table position and will put on a decent game. Nothing great, both teams will probably get a well earnt point from this match.
Verdict: Draw
West Bromwich Albion v Everton
Everton have had an unbelievable season, whereas Albion have failed to impress. Megson's side will start out on top, but as Everton get settled in, Albion will start to lose out and Everton will hurt them for it.
Verdict: Everton win
West Ham United v Aston Villa
The Hammers have had a few good results lately, Villa have had some good too, both drawing their last games. West Ham aren't going to be as easy for Villa as they were at Villa Park in November (4-1 to Villa :)), but I only see things getting worse for the Hammers.
Verdict: Villa win (and not just because I support them!)

Well it's just finished, 2-2. Good game, Van Nistelrooy's goal was pretty deasant, not as good as Martin Tyler and Andy Gray made it out to be though. Talking point of the game would definitely be Campbell's sending off. Is it just me that thinks Solskjaer over-reacted? Campbell faces a 4 game ban now and Arsenal are gonna miss him for the remainder of the season.

gud game by both sides!! fair result IMO!!
Not only are arsenal gonna miss him, while under a suspension for Violent Conduct you cannot play for your country either!
But i agree Ole Gunnar woteva, over reacted big style!
Solksjaer certainly made the most of it, but Campbell deserved to be sent off... he can't go around swinging his elbows like that, he's not Alan Shearer after all.
What about Henry's goal? He was a couple of yards offside, and the linesman was right in line with him; shocking that he didn't flag for that one.

Premiership Results
Aston Villa 2 – 1 Chelsea
Well Chelsea’s Champions League hopes were really hit today away to my beloved Villa. I had the chance to go down and watch but I chose not to (I don’t know why!). Villa are now safe by the looks of things, Chelsea are being closely followed by Liverpool...
Bolton 1 – 0 West Ham United
Bolton’s win today has really hurt West Ham, it now seems as though the Hammers may be joining Sunderland and the “Boing Boing” Baggies in Division 1 next season. Jay Jay Okocha scored the game’s only goal.
Charlton Athletic 0 – 2 Birmingham City
Dugarry does it again, 2 goals in 2 games now. Robbie Savage struck a penalty into the back of the net to seal the points for the scum :p
Everton 1 – 2 Liverpool
The Merseyside derby promised to be a cracker, with all attention on “whizzkid” Wayne Rooney. He didn’t manage to score today, but Unsworth got a penalty straight past Dudek. It wasn’t enough though, as Liverpool won the derby and are edging closer to that Champions League spot currently occupied by Chelsea.
Fulham 2 – 1 Newcastle United
Fulham’s win today has pretty much secured their Premiership status for next season. Fulham are now on 41 points along with Villa and Birmingham who also won today.
Manchester United 3 -1 Blackburn Rovers
United are currently top of the league, but have played a game more than Arsenal. Van Nistelrooy and Scholes (who scored twice) sealed today’s victory.
Middlesbrough 0 – 2 Arsenal
Arsene Wenger is speaking on Sky Sports as I type this. I’m not really listening to the guy (can’t be arsed!). Arsenal maintain the pressure on United with the win over Boro, one feels that the title race is going right to the final match.
Southampton 3 -2 Leeds United
Leeds were hunting a win today, but went 3-0 down and had Alan Smith sent off. Leeds got 2 goals back in the final 10 minutes or so, but it wasn’t enough and they are now on equal points with Bolton.
Sunderland 1 – 2 West Bromwich Albion
A win for Albion would keep them up… as long as Bolton didn’t beat West Ham. Two goals for Albion and the fans were chanting “Going down!”. Sunderland got one back, but Albion won the match. Unfortunately, the Baggies will be joining Sunderland in the first division next season. Bye Bye Baggies (QTR is gonna love that!)

WTF? We were terrible, I've seen us play badly this season Middlesborough and Southampton spring to mind but that was a lacklustre display against a lacklustre team. A good job we wont be in the UEFA cup, we'd just embarrass ourselves.
I'm just really disappointed...you'd think I'd be used to it by now :(

LIVERPOOL 2-1 EVERTON
I am sooooo fucking glad Wayne Rooney didn't score I would never here the end of it from the toff's if that boy wonder struck one against us.
Now we have to scramble for the crumbs of the premiereship and get a champions leauge place.
Also my dad was livid at the FULHAM result caused a bit of arge barge at home football eh!;)

Well Chelsea’s Champions League hopes were really hit today away to my beloved Villa. I had the chance to go down and watch but I chose not to (I don’t know why!). Villa are now safe by the looks of things, Chelsea are being closely followed by Liverpool...
Fuck.
What really pisses me off is that I have to root for Arsenal now after Newcastle is playing like Swiss goats. Oh well, as long as Man Utd. doesn't win, I'll be happy.

Well Leeds got a 2-0 win tonight moving them up to 41 points, getting away from the relegation zone now. I still think West Ham will go down, despite their win over Boro yesterday... c'mon it's only Boro!

west ham are gonna do down i would think, its pretty much academic now
then again, anything can happen in the next half an hour. STINGRAYYYYYYYY STINGRAY!
i mean, anything can happen.
however id be willing to wager a large sum on west ham going down, as wolves ascend like the beautiful gold glad phoenix they could so easily be.

I'll join you with that bet, I really hope Wolves go up the stadium is brilliant. Went there when we beat Wolves in an FA Cup replay...Ruel Fox grabbed a brace in a 2-0 win. In 1997.
PS I hate West Ham...but get well soon Glenn Roeder.

i second the Glenn sentiments.
i seriously believe that if wolves can up, they will stay up. we already have some great talent in the side (Miller, Cameron, Irwin, Lescott, Murray), and with a little bit of cash chucked in, we would have a shot at it.
god knows we cant do as bad as West Brom lol :)
just a shame we couldnt take Southampton down in the cup...

Yes, I thought Wolves were really unlucky against the Saints. Lescott, Murray, and Kennedy have impressed me. Plus Colin Cameron was an absolute steal, he was great for Hearts.
It'd be good to play against (and beat) Wolves again :D
We've done well against the midlands
Beat West Brom & Villa twice, plus beat and drew against B'Ham.

if only you'd beaten Birmingham, it would have made it a perfect season...
as for the beating, well we will see...;)

Thought you'd enjoy that. Shocking result for West Brom.
I reckon tomorrow I'll be leaving WHL in tears after roughly the same score line...better not if they expect me to renew my season ticket!

Yay! Thank god the Toon stopped the slump against the mackems. I'm breathing a lot more easier than I was last week :)
I guess the Gooners are sweating a bit now though: bad result for them (bit of an understatement really).

I wasn't, this season has been absolutely terrible for us, we've had a bit of a good run lately though (even though Everton spoilt it yesterday ). Hopefully we have a better season next year, if we keep Allback and he keeps on grabbing goals like he is now we should be far better.

I thought Allback was gonna be a hit but his confidence must have dipped after the world cup. He's had a good run recently, so fair play to the guy.
I've just got back from seeing Spurs battle bravely against a team I thought were gonna stuff us. We held on well, defeat was inevitable but well done Ledders and Keller. At least my dream teams looking good with Scholes and Van Nistelrooy scoring.

Allback limped out of the Sweden/Croatia game the other night, he was looking a doubt for the game against Sunderland tomorrow but he might just be in the squad now by the looks of things :) Which brings me to the point, predictions!
Aston Villa vs Sunderland - Villa win (bet Allback scores! ;))
Blackburn Rovers vs West Bromwich Albion - Rovers win
Fulham vs Everton - Everton win
Liverpool vs Manchester City - Liverpool win
Manchester United vs Charlton Athletic - United win
Middlesbrough vs Tottenham Hotspur - Spurs win
Newcastle United vs Birmingham City - Newcastle win.. only just!
Southampton vs Bolton Wanderers - Draw
West Ham United vs Chelsea - Chelsea win, West Ham almost go bye bye!

Aston Villa 1 - 0 Sunderland - I was right, Allback delivered again!
Blackburn Rovers 1 - 1 West Bromwich Albion - Koumas cancelled out Duff's early goal
Fulham 2 - 0 Everton - 2 own goals from Everton gave Fulham Premiership survival
Liverpool 1 - 2 Manchester City - Anelka in the last seconds.. ouch!
Manchester United 4 - 1 Charlton Athletic - Yep, that was obvious!
Middlesbrough 5 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur - Fuck...
Newcastle United 1 - 0 Birmingham City - Excellent...
>>EDIT>> Southampton 0 - 0 Bolton Wanderers - 5:30 kick off, Bolton can still stay up
West Ham United 1 - 0 Chelsea - West Ham survive for another week

Well just when you think things cant get any worse...your team loses 5-1 to Boro.
When will this season end...oh and to make matters worse it looks like West Ham will probably stay up now! :(

The teams trying to save themselves from relegations are really messing with the top teams. West Ham winning Chelsea...oy. Gets a bit close for that 4th position now. And Leeds-Arsenal is a huge game for both teams, although I'd say ManU has just about got the championship in the bag...again

Chelsea vs Liverpool next week will be a massive game. My money's on the reds i think.

Well the Arsenal/Leeds game finished as a 3-2 victory for Leeds, meaning they escape the drop and Man United have won the title :( It was kinda obvious that they'd end up with it in the end though, too many mistakes this season have cost Arsenal dearly.
So now the third relegation spot is going to be decided between Bolton and West Ham. Bolton are at home to Middlesbrough next week and West Ham are away to Birmingham City. Should be an interesting final week of the season. Big games to watch out for include:
Birmingham City vs West Ham United (Us Villa fans need a West Ham Win and for us to beat Leeds ;))
Bolton Wanderers vs Middlesbrough (Erm... go Bolton!)
Chelsea vs Liverpool (For the final Champion's League spot)

I had to have a laugh at Arsenal, and call relatives who support the Gooners.
Undefeated all season? Walk the championship?
