Debbie Reynolds' character in Mother.
She is just like both of my grandmothers in real life, and probably is gonna be what my very own mother will turn into as time goes on...

Mary Tyler Moore's character in Ordinary People was the first to spring to mind. The type of woman whose selfishness supercedes her role as a mother, great realistic character, great performance.

The best movie mom of all time, IMHO, is Melinda Dillon's Mrs. Parker in A CHRISTMAS STORY. Classic movie mom.
And, if you count it, "Mother" from PSYCHO, as well. :D
