Movie wasnt that bad. Actually I wanted to see what the hub bub about Clooney's Ass!:D Story, well wont be for everybody but I did like the surrealness It tried to do. Anyway, Ilovemovies I suggest checking w/ Amazon every so often. The 2002 Solaris does not appear on their database yet but does on Tlavideo but no dates announced yet.

If I am not mistaken, it will be released on June 10th. No specs or coverart are available yet.

Amazing movie, one of 2002's best. I'm hoping for a big SE (not gonna happen though).

Ditto. I'd also love a nice SE, but you're right, it won't happen. But hell, I'm just looking forward to getting my hands on the DVD!

I'd really like it to come out on DVD soon, I attempted to see it in theatres twice, and the first time so many people kept walking out of the theatre it just detracted from the whole viewing experience, and the second time there was a false fire alarm, and I got my money back, but damnit I wanted to see the film uninterrupted. I liked what i saw anyways....:(

If it'll hold you over you could rent the original 1972 version, available from Criterion.

I've heard both sides of the coin on Solaris. Hot Ticket, the Leonard Maltin/Joyce what's her name both detested it but Ebert liked it if I'm not mistaken. I'll rent it and see for myself.

Actually Leonard and Joyce admired some of the movie, in particular Clooney's performance but felt the movie was cold and distant. And yeah, Ebert and Reoper both liked it. The reviews have been very mixed. It's pretty much been 50/50 with those who liked it and those who didn't.
