Well I,being an australian, am happy coz we hammered everyone.

- Sucked the shit in South Africa who say they are the test champs even though we beat them, they were eliminated in the first round, dumb bastards.

- Go Kenya, they better get test status now, i mean an inexperienced side like that making it to the semis.

- SUcked in england, gone in the first round, although i wish they got through past zimbabwe.

What did you think of the world cup?

I thought it was awesoem because most of the pitches were suited for batting and one day cricket is always best when lots of runs are scored.

And what about the final? Australia made their highest one day score ever in the world cup final, it doesn't get any better than that. Or does it? No.

I'm not expecting that many, if any, replies to this thread because in general cricket is boring. OH well, how a bout a sympathy reply, i mean i went to all this trouble typing this out and teasing south africa and england, so why not reply with a comeback.

This is a sympathy reply.:)

I fear any replies you can expect for this thread will be riddled with sarcasm and jokes.

But you never know... ;)

Good luck, bud.

OH and for the poeple that know nothing about it, here is what it was like:

Group 1 standings: (wins-loss-ties/no result-points)

Australia (6-0-0-24)
India (5-1-0-20)
Zimbabwe (3-2-1-14)
England (3-3-0-12)
Pakistan (2-3-1-10)
Holland (1-5-0-4)
Namibia (0-6-0-0)

Group 2 standings:

Sri Lanka (4-1-1-18)
Kenya (4-2-0-16)
New Zealand (4-2-0-16)
West Indies (3-2-1-14)
South Africa (3-2-1-14)
Canada (1-5-0-4)
Bangladesh (0-5-1-2)

There was a super sixes stage for people who dont know about cricket but its too complicated so i'll skip to the semi finals which were made up of the top 2 of each group so explaining the super sixes would be pointless anyway.

First semi final: Australia vs Sri Lanka - Australia won by 48 runs (match wsa rained out though, so it isn't entirely accurate but australia would have won it anyway considering the position they were in)

Second semi final: India vs Kenya - India won by 91 runs, but Kenya normally wouldnt have made it past the first round so this is like south korea in soccr last year.

Final: Australia vs India. Here's the scorecard:

Australia (50 overs (300 balls))
A. Gilchrist - caught, bowled H. Singh - 57 (48 balls)
M.Hayden -caught, bowled H. Singh - 37 (54)
R.Ponting -Not Out - 140 (121)
D. Martyn -Not out - 88 (84)

50 overs - 37 extras - 359 runs, for 2 wickets

S. Tendulkar- caught & bowled G. McGrath - 4 (5)
V. Sehwag - run out - 82 (81)
S. Ganguly - caught, bowled B. Lee - 24 (25)
M. Kaif - caught, bowled G. McGrath - 0 (4)
R. Dravid - bowled A. Bichel - 47 (57)
Y. Singh - caught, bowled B. Hogg - 24 (34)
D. Mongia - caught, bowled A. Symonds - 12 (11)
H. Singh - caught, bowled A. Symonds - 7 (8)
Z. Khan - caught, bowled G. McGrath - 4 (8)

Sorry each to their own but....shite.

I hate cricket but good on Australia for winning when everyone knew they would.

I watched a bit of it, but I wasn't really interested. Australia were obviously going to win it, nobody else had any chance - they'd have been as well letting Scotland play Australia, we'd have as much chance of beating them as any test nation.

Always nice to see England doing shit, and I was glad to see Kenya doing well.
