My birthday is coming up in about a week and a half, and I need the ever-reliable help from the Schmoes to help come up with DVDs to get for that special occasion. My ideas so far:
Brazil: The Criterion Collection (I'm iffy about this since it'd be a blind buy, and that it's a love/hate movie)
Below
Family Guy: Volumes 1&2
Six Feet Under: The Complete First Season
If you can help come up with good ideas, I'd be eternally grateful.
Here's my collection here (http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&id=clownshoes)

What about getting the films off your wishlist you've got some awesome ones there such as: Jerry Maguire and Goodfellas (your probably waiting for the SE) and all those other DVD's you go on your wish list.

I haven't updated my wishlist for awhile, so some titles like Maguire and Apocalypse Now are ones I've lost interest in. It's been difficult not purchasing Goodfellas, but I am desperately waiting for the SE I've heard so much about

The Royal Tenenbaums Criterion Collection
Almost Famous: Untitled
Se7en: Special 2 Disc Edition
A.I.: Artificial Intelligence: Special Edition
Moulin Rouge!
Forrest Gump
Pulp Fiction: Special Edition
Nurse Betty
LOTR: FOTR Extended Edition
Those are some pretty sweet discs. And about Brazil, I didn't hate it or love it, but I'm not exactly Gilliam's biggest fan either. If you love/like his other flicks, you'll like/love Brazil.

Have every one of those except for MR, which I probably wouldn't buy, and haven' seen Betty. I haven't seen any other Terry Gilliam movies (except Holy Grail, if that counts), so I'm kinda cautious about it
I'm going to give you some recommendations, but you might already own or didn't like some of the movies I list. I'll give it my best shot though.

There's so many more, but it all depends on what you like. Since I'm not sure what ones you've seen and hated or what ones you already own, I have no idea what to recommend. But I hope I could be of some help anyway.

1.X-Men 1.5-I have the first release, but since I don't watch the movie that much anyways, it seems kinda useless to buy a double dip.
2.Red Dragon-Haven't seen it
3.One Hour Photo-Haven't, but not a whole lot of interest
4.Wishcraft-Never heard of it
5.Seven-Have it
6.The Body-Never heard of it
7.Joy Ride (2002)-Like it, though am not sure I'll buy, but will consider it
8.Crime and Punishment in Suburbia-Never heard of it
9.Dead Man Walking-Haven't seen it
10.Hollow Man-Seen it, didn't really like
11.Collateral Damage-See #10
12.Glengarry Glenross-Havn't seen it, but might rent in the future
FREEWAY is a kick ass little flick with a kick ass performance by Reese Witherspoon! It's funny and twisted... I'd definitely check it out.
PECKER is a John Waters comedy with Ed Furlong and Christina Ricci. I really enjoyed it and found it to be funny. It's one of the more tamer John Waters films.
Anyway, here's another recommendation. The kick ass BOUND!

I was gonna say Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets but you haven't got the first one, so i figured that you weren't a big fan of the first movie.
Anyway you could get Signs, the features on it are ok, but it is a great film and the picture and sound is very good.

Signs-I liked the movie, but with the copout, nonconsistent ending, my appreciation for it was tampered. But on the whole, it's not really a movie I'd wanna see again.
Pecker-Now I remember this movie. I remember chuckling a few times, but it's not really a movie I'd see over and over.
Bound-I'll really consider this, along with Election, as I hadn't seen all of Bound (it was on TV to), but was impressed by what I saw.
Harry Potter-I'm not a big fan of the Potter flicks, and I've seen both, so that immediately discounts it.
Get that one. Family Guy rules.
That's one of those ones that I'm almost 100% sure on, since I loved the show

Sorry to get off topic but I hated this movie. I wouldn't recommend it. And I found Reese Witherspoon's performance to shrill and annoying. Just like the movie.

Well, that's your opinion. I know I'm not alone on this one though, a lot of people loved it.
