hey,
does anyone know when the SCHINDLERS LIST dvd is goin to be released....it is my favorite movie and i really want to get it on dvd. i expect or hope that it will be at least 3 discs with a mad asss cover..
does anyone know when it tis coming out??
There's been no info released about this at all. There are probably some rumours and speculation, but Spielberg has announced nothing, nor has whichever company holds the rights to SL.
So no date, as yet. Story of my life ;)

Sorry man, but it is not out yet, and it won't be for another 5,000,000,000 years. Just get the Widescreen VHS and hope that the DVD comes soon enough.
BTW-I too love Schindler's List, and it deserves a great DVD release.
PS: I'd expect it most likely to be released in 2008 or 2013. No, I'm not kidding.

lol 2008!
i hope not. youd think it would have a DVD release, it won 7 oscars and is a very popular film, definatly my favorite. it would have good special features aswell:confused:

2008 makes sense, actually. The 15th anniversary. God, I hope it doesn't take that long.

Supposedly it was to come out August of 2002, but that never happened. It was also to have the 4 hour cut that couldn't be released. No follow up on that. Personally, I really love the movie, but I can't understand why anyone would wanna see it again. It's just one of those movies to me that is so good that it doesn't need to be seen twice

This year makes sense. It's the 10th anniversary. Lets pray to fucking god for a later this year release. Although we know for damn sure that it probably won't happen. Just like Ed Wood.

Well, for me, it's been so long since I've seen it that I'd like to experience it again. And I don't want to rent the worn-out VHS. I'd like to hear commentaries, see documentaries and deleted scenes. It deserves a good DVD release.

Ed Wood is on DVD, with lots of extras, including commentary by Tim Burton. Unfortunately I think its only available in region 2 or 3 version, not region 1 US. Schindler's List is also on DVD, in region 1 (or all-region). It's an import, and I'm not sure of all the features. Check ebay.

Neesh, I'm aware both films are on DVD, just not in North America, I dont want to import either of them. They're great movies and all, just not worth the hassle.

Its actually pretty easy to get either of them, you dont need to order them from someplace overseas, there are people in America selling them. To each his own though....

i am almost certain i read a pretty recent interview with spielberg somewhere in which he made a comment about currently working on a special edition dvd for schindler's list
besides, have u noticed all of his older films just came out in piles in the past year? color purple, e.t., close encounters, etc, so expect it to come soon.
i myself am dying to see this again and will buy it as soon as it comes out.
the version i saw was vhs pan & scan (i saw it with my friend about couple months ago, now one of my favorite movies) and i can't wait to see it in an actually good format.

I've never actually seen the movie, but I would love to see it for the first time on DVD.

I agree. Schindler's List is as harrowing as my dad and his friend think ScarFace was. Schindler's List was better than ScarFace.

I'm sure Spielberg plans to release it on DVD, but it won't be for a while yet because he's busy with all these damned extras! It a film that's worth the wait though.
