You try to figure out how I feel about her, she's my least favorite actress and the ugliest woman in Hollywood. A definite NAY.

Anyone find Ms. Love attractive?

now normally i tend to agree with voodoo on a lot. but her acting really isnt all that great at all. and in all honesty, her music isnt all that great either.

...Well when I first heard of Courtney was thru her music group "Hole" when they had the hit song "Doll Parts". Then came along & went her relationship w/ Kurt Cobain. She branched off into the movie scence in "The People vs. Larry Flynt" to "Man On The Moon" She briefly got professional looking in 1997 but looks like she back to her old ways again so I hafta say........................

I'm kinda in the middle. I loved her in "People vs. Larry Flynt", thought she was ok in everything else I've seen her in, and think "Celebrity Skin" is a brillant album (that's the only one I've heard). On the other hand, her real life persona is extremely offputting.

She was superb in The People Vs. Larry Flynt. (But many will argue her role, as a foul-mouthed, drug addicted, bisexual wife of a porno publisher, isn't much of a stretch). But I haven't seen her range much. I will say YAY...but tentatively.

Okay, Courtney...quite the enigmatic actress, I'd like to see the gal "stretch" herself but she's a YAY for the time being.

I don't think she's particularly hideous either. She just needs to sort her fucking noggin out, quick sharp!!!

Looks-wise I think she's variable. Providing she isn't smashed on drugs and booze and isn't wearing something that looks like it was made out of some spare net curtains and a torn, black velvet bedsheet she can actually look alright. In terms of acting talent i'm a little bit yay and a little bit nay. She was very good in Larry Flynt but that's all i've seen her in. I'd need to see her play something that's more of a stretch (rather amusingly I read something about her playing Lady Macbeth in a new movie adaptation). Music talentwise I think she's fucking amazing. Her three albums with Hole, Pretty On The Inside, Live Through This and Celebrity Skin, are all stunning. I also find her to be a highly entertaining individual in interviews. She's very self aware and intelligent. She knows exactly what she is doing and which buttons to press. Overall i'm gonna have to give her a big old YAY!!! Most of her detractors are usually fans of Kurt and Nirvana who attribute all the blame for his mental decline and eventual suicide to Love. I myself am a huge fan of Nirvana's music and of Kurt Cobain. He was a very talented individual but from what i've read he was always a little messed in the head...even before Love came on the scene. He was a grown man and therefore master of his own destiny so I think the blame that is laid at Love's feet is vastly exagerrated. Just my tuppenceworth.

She is pretty in an average way, but her bitchy character doesn't appeal to me. As for acting, she is clearly talented. She rocked in Larry Flynt.

As for music, she is undeniably talented. Several very good songs and one INCREDIBLY BRILLIANT tune by the name of "Doll parts". That song fucking rocks.

Kobain was destined to die young long before he met Courtney Love. The "documentary" conserning the issue that many have seen is a big load of lies and bullshit.

I'd have to say a great big NAY. Mainly because I don't think she's terribly talented either dramatically or musically, but also because I can't stand temperamental micro-celebs who think the world revolves around them. OK, I hate her, for a few reasons:

1. She got a friend of mine beaten up by her minders at a Hole gig in London, just for her own amusement (I've told this story in this forum before, but I'll tell it again if you want to hear it);

2. She worships Nancy Spungen (useless junkie girlfriend of Pistols bassist Sid Vicious); when she learned Alex Cox was making a biopic of their lives, she ruthlessly campaigned to get the part of Nancy. When she didn't get it, she did everything but physically attack Cox and called him every name in the book. It's a miracle she got a small part as Nancy's Chelsea friend in the film.

3. Every film role I've seen her play, I've just seen her play herself (whore, junkie, muso, etc.). I don't consider that great acting talent.

4. She throws Herculean temper tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants. Someone didn't spank her enough when she was a little kid, this behaviour is just childish.

And I don't know if this is true, but a mate of mine in the music industry told me that Kurt Cobain pretty much wrote all the songs on Hole's debut album, which is why it sold like hotcakes and made a name for the band. He points out their 2nd album's considerably smaller chart success (post-Cobain) as proof. But again, this info is 2nd-hand, so I can't back it up. But I'm inclined to believe it.

I have absolutely no knowledge of Love's parental skills myself, but I'm betting she actually dotes on her only daughter.

If she really cares about her daughter then she would stop getting into theses drunken tirades like she did on that recent trip to the U.K. She was drunk or drugged up (again), and she started screaming and ranting on the plane, she did much of the same apparently on the ground. Hey, spend time with your daughter instead of working out your mental problems in public for everyone to see. Her daughter btw, was dumped with a babysitter during that trip in which she "lost it" again.

Also, she wouldn't step out of the house looking like a two dollar whore (you've seen these pictures BCV, please don't make me post the horrible evidence). If she doesn't have any respect for herself then she doesn't have any for her daughter either. Her poor daughter already has to grow up without a father the last thing she needs is her goddamn mother in the headlines making a fool of herself. Don't you think that will affect the girl someday?

She's all talk. That comment she made about moving to Montana 5 years ago. The media or the public doesn't give a damn about her daughter, she causes enough ruckus that the media has enough on their plate just dealing with her out-of-control mother. She loves the spotlight too much and would NEVER move to Montana as she said, she's too selfish and probably too high.

These are just a few examples, if so inclined I could probably roll up my sleeves and get you real hard evidence on Courtney's negligence as a mother. Jesus, man, the woman can hardly take care of herself much less her daughter.

If she really cared about her ONLY daughter, then instead of making some empty comments about moving away she would actually do it and raise her daughter out of the limelight in complete privacy. And for chrissakes, sober up, woman!

Madonna cares about her daughter, you could see that! Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis also care enough about their children to raise them in an out of the way place. Also, they act like adults and thus don't expose their children to bad press about their crazy antics.

My point is, BCV, anybody who consistently does these idiotic things in public is OBVIOUSLY not putting her daughter FIRST in her life.

Whether or not she's "awful" or not, she has the resources (money) to give her daughter a private life and also to fix herself up (mentally) if she needs it and she hasn't done it yet. Again, with her resources, there is no excuse for it, she's not even a decent mother yet.

How come it's "poor Kurt" but she's a bitch? Afterall he was off-his-face and stood by when his kid got addicted to methadone, same as Courtney did. I just don't get how he's sainted while she's vilified: if she's an awful mother then he was an awful father. They were one of the most fucked-up and tragic couples ever; in my mind they're both as bad or good as each other.
