View Full Version : FINAL DESTINATION 2 --- Death arrives July 22nd!
http://www.dvdfile.com/images/box_art/7/finaldestination2.jpg
This is from DVD File:
Ouch! That hurts! Death can be such a messy business...as you'll find out on July 22nd when New Line Home Entertainment releases the hit sequel Final Destination 2. This souped-up Infinifilm Edition delivers all the bloody goods: 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital Surround EX and DTS ES 6.1, an audio commentary with director David Ellis, screenwriters Eric Bress and J. Mackye Gruber and producer Craig Perry, a subtitle fact track, the featurettes "The Terror Gauge," "Cheating Death: Beyond and Back" and "Bits and Pieces: Bringing Death to Life," deleted and alternate scenes, and theatrical trailers. ROM extras include the script-to-screen viewer, the original theatrical website, downloadable wallpapers and the exclusive "Chain Reaction" interactive adventure. Retail is $27.95.
Thank god this wasn't given a shitty snap case. I hate those things. Anyway, I loved FINAL DESTINATION 2 (8/10 or B+), it was a gory and fast paced blast. There's no doubt that I will definitely be adding this to my DVD collection.
The cover art is pretty good, but my opinion may be a little biased since I love the color blue.
Overall, the DVD looks pretty solid, I can't wait...

Thats just the retail price, most stores will sell it for the average price of a DVD ($15-$20)...

I donīt thing this belongs to the DVD discussion thread. but anyway.
Death is after him, he is the last to go, but he saved Kimberly, so that makes her the last to go.Then the doped dude saves the stupid little kid that dies at the end, so deathīs order jumps and goes direct to him...Or something like that.
Anyway, I was really dissapointed by this movie.I loved the original.Iīm gonna give it a second chance and rent the DVD which sound really cool.

I loved this movie and i'm glad to see it getting a decent treatment on DVD. Hopefully the deleted and alternate scenes will add to the movie and not just be wasted extras, be cool if there is a different ending. I would've liked if there was a cast commentary, but it'll be interesting to hear what the director's have to say about the opening scene and each respective death scene. Its annoying that down here in Australia, we have to wait till September 24th, but it'll be worth it, I loooooved this movie and will make it a necessary DVD addition. And the cover art is okay, I think I prefer the original poster a little better as this latest cover art seems a little too straight to video horror or action hero pose ala X-Men, but its all good.

I know, that's why Kangaroo Jack is getting such good features ;).
Anyway, I know you hated it DH, but some people actually didn't. I think it's cool when they give any movie a lot of extras on DVD, even if I hated it or think it looks stupid. At least the fans of it will be getting a good DVD. I thought Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets sucked and was very disappointed, but it doesn't bother me that it got a good DVD treatment. And Kangaroo Jack looks retarted, yet it doesn't bother me at all that it's getting a lot of extras. Just because I don't care for the movie, doesn't mean I want the fans of it to have to suffer with a shitty DVD.
So, you may think it sucks, but it does have a lot of fans that will buy it, and I think that we deserve to get a good DVD...

Yeah, the theatrical poster was really cool. I don't mind the cover art though, but that's mainly just because of the cool color. Either would have been fine with me, of course, if I had to choose, I'd say the theatrical poster art was better.

I think the only people who would think of what you said as being obvious are the people who have seen the movie. You could think of it as a sort of foreshadowing of the movie, but I think they just meant it as a play on the tagline for the first film.

This, is my new review of Final Destination 2:
****SPOILERS****
When I first saw this I was with really high expectations, even I fI didnīt want to.When I left the theater I was like ..."This movie was fucking lame"...Now I had an oportunity to see it again, and I can assure you that It wasnīt that bad.
The pile-up at the beginning of the movie was still awesome, much better thab the plane crush and IMO the best action sequence of the year so far(The one in X2: X-Men United(8/10 or B+) is close too).I really liked how this characters got together and tryied to save theirselfs.
About the deaths, my favourite is still the "lucky guy" and the ladder in the eye. What a great death.
Timīs death was also cool, but It happened too fast and it wasnīt as shocking as it should be.Timīs mom(Norah) death scene was still crappy, but fun.
Now, the one that really impressed me and I watched a 100 times was the Air bag scene. The first time was fucking lame, but now it really grossed me out and made me chuckle, in a sick and dark way.Roryīs death was also great, but it was done before(The Cube(7/10 or B), Ghost Ship(4/10 or D-) and Resident Evil(6/10 or C+).)
The doble explotion at the hospital sucked and the ending of the movie was still FUCKING LAME!!!...it totally ruined the movie and made gave this a much lower rating. The last 10 minutes are dumb.
Acting wasnīt that bad as I said.A.J. Cook was nice!...I also really liked Kat and Rory. Both funny.
A great direction by Ellis and great looking movie. All in all it wasnīt THAT bad, but it wasnīt very good either. My final rating is for this movie is:
6/10 or C+

my review(btw, i like the cover.looks cool to me)
Final Destination 2 8/10 Great Gore Fest
The follow up to the surprising original has the same basic plot with a different cast of characters. One year after and in the same town that the events of the first took place,Kimberly(A.J. Cook) is going on a cross country trip with three friends. But before she merges onto the interstate, she has a horrible premonition of a huge pileup involving herself and her friends which include many cool and gruesome deaths. When the vision ends, she refuses to enter the interstate, which brings out Officer Thomas Burke(Michael Landes). The pileup actually happens, but without the people who were supposed to die, except Kimberly's three friends, who get rammed into by a semi.Kimberly gets saved by Thomas and the premonition saves the should be deceased. When one of the survivors dies mysteriously,Kimberly sees that history is repeating itself and seeks out the lone survivor from the first,Clear Rivers(Ali Larter).who is now being held in a padded room at her own request to hide from death. They team up to save the survivors and themselves. The element of surprise and fear from the first is gone here, but this movie delivers what it promises in spades.Every kill is gory, surprising, innovative, and impressive. It features many tense scenes(Dentist, opening sequence) and the cast does it's job to thei fullest.Cook is charismatic and likeable as the heroine and lead. The comic reliefs of sort Eugene and Rory(T.C. Carson,Jonathan Cherry) are funny at times, but Eugene is the non believer, even after witnessing several deaths and knowing about what happened a year prior to this. The story of death does become confusing,Tony Todd is in here again for some reason, and there is a dumb baby subplot. But FD2 does it's job terrifically, and that is to provide a fun, gory, and thrilling roller coaster ride.

I'm definitely looking forward to picking up this DVD. The review at DVD File says the image and sound are PERFECT, some of the best EVER. So if you're a fan of the movie, I guess it's a definite purchase.

I went to my local grocery store yesterday, and surprisingly, they had this dvd for sale already, and I picked it up! It's fantastic. The features are great, the film is awesome, and the video/audio quality is top notch... this is DEFINATELY worth picking up for fans of the film!

I also bought the DVD yesterday and it is spectacular. Although most non-horror fans will probably be disappointed with it, for us horror lovers it's a treat! The DVD extras are great but the best of them all is a special feature showcasing the gore of this film (called "Bits and Pieces") and gore from all sorts of other flicks (including a deleted scene from one of the Friday the 13ths, it doesn't say which one). The deaths are the reason to see this movie and they all kick ass to some degree (most to high degrees). This is a gore lovers wet dream so dig in and have a blast!

I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. As most people know, I hate extremely gory movies. But that is why I love this. On terms of the first and second movies, they are both great. FD had the story, while FD2 had the gore.
And EDsoulsurvive*, I was surprised too when I went to the video store and seen it when my friend told me it wouldn't be out until the 22nd. Anyway, that is the only place I can find it now, so I'm guessing the other places will sell it on the 22nd.

3 days, including today...
The FD DVD has two great commentaries by the cast and crew, plus one 'bored' commentary from the music person. It has two documentaries, three deleted scenes (ok, so one is ALTERNATE), two games, a screen to script (PC DVD), and other things.
Damn, wish I had a Best Buy near me. My FD DVD doesn't work now! I've only had it for 4 months, and I've watched it so many times it skips in areas.

Well, my most anticipated DVD release of this week arrived today. Having not seen it in theateres, I was wondering how I'd enjoy FD2. I was a big fan of the first one, and am proud to say the second was just as entertaining. The pile up was amazingly well done and very horrific, andany elements of the film came as a surprise to me (a few deaths came earlier than expcted for me). As for the DVD....well, I'll be buying it. Great special features....I love Infinifilm.

In the upper righthand corner, this is a poster, and I think it reads Final Destination 3, and on the fact track, it says Final Destination 3 is already in the making. Am I paranoid, or is it real!?!?!?

Alright, im getting pissed off. I rented this today, and just popped it in to watch the specials before I watch the movie. How the fuck do you get the specials to play? I hate Infinifilm dvds. My Goldmember DVD is like this as well, I cant get any of the special stuff to play. NORMAL dvds have a special features section you cant go to, and there everything is. Not on these! Do I have to watch the movie to get the special stuff? Because if so that pisses me off. Why cant they just be normal?!

Go to infinifilm, and selectd All Acess Pass, where they split the features into two sections.

I bought the DVD today and it's a solid one... The features definitely make this DVD better than the original's.

About FD3....
Near the end of the Fact Track on the DVD it reads "Final Destination 3 is currently in the works."
I'm all for a third!

Yeah, the DVD will be released like in October here, and I'll definitely buy it. The reason why I really like this movie is because I can watch it over and over and still be enterteined, that's why I think I think I prefer this one than the first one.
BTW: MAY was amazing. ;)
