Breaking it down here...
Title logo with flames = GOOD
Whie border around title logo = BAD
2-Disc set = VERY GOOD
Big red sticker labeling it a 2-Disc set = BAD
Widescreen label lined with Braille = GOOD
Daredevil & Elektra = GOOD
Big cheesy yellow moon in background = BAD
I'm really glad they're giving it the 2-disc Special Edition treatment, but that cover art could use an overhaul. That big yellow circle is garrish and completely out of place, that they could easily have put the "2-Disc Special Edition" label in a bar at the top of the cover instead of that stupid red oval they just slapped any ol' place.

I didn't quite care for the movie, but you have to hand it to them... that's some pretty sweet-ass cover art. Any news on the specs? I just might pick this one up if the special features out-weigh the film itself. And who knows, I may end up liking it A LOT more on DVD (a la Spider-Man).

Daredevil (B-) was good, not great. It's really the weakest of the recent comic book movies. I doubt I'll be buying this DVD, but I will rent it for a second viewing... Cool cover art also...

Wow, that cover art is GOD AWFUL...It looks just like the film, can't decide whether it wants to be dark and serious or campy and dumb. Oh well.

That has to be one of the shittiest covers I've ever seen. Hopefully they change that.

What is this fascination with covers? Do you guys sit and look at them while the movie is running or something? And on the shelf you can only see the spine, so what's the big deal really.

i think the real question is who doesnt??????
jk of course. Anyway, i like the cover (JENNIFER GARNER) but does anyone kno if this is the R rated version like the director (cant think of name) said it would be?

Mark Steven Johnson (the director) did say an R-rated Director's Cut was a possibility for the DVD release. Now that we know for certain it'll be a 2-disc set (thanks to that big oval eyesore on that cover), it wouldn't surprise me if they had the theatrical and director's cuts available through seamless branching (a la Terminator 2). Either that or they'll have the theatrical cut on one disc and the director's cut (w/ commentary?) on the other (a la Stargate).

I think the cover art is bad. Ugh, no actual creativity went into the art.
Why do people care about the cover art? Well, I'm an art major at the moment and I always look for the aesthetic value in everything and analyze the creativity. This cover art is just lame (like the movie 2/10).

I really like the cover art, except for the cheesy moon in the background. Anywho, Daredevil is the best superhero film, and I'll definitely buy the DVD. Can't wait to see the specs.

The coverart is average, no more and no less. The movie however, rocked! I can't wait until I order this baby.

So what if the moon looks cheesy? The coverart still is good, well better then Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets coverart which really sucked. But this is a blind buy for me. I am sure I will like it, and if not I will sell it to my friend for 10 bucks.

I'm suprised it is getting a 2-disc set after it flopped at the box office.
I'll give it a rent when the Director's Cut comes out. But what I REALLY want is a Batman 1&2 Special Edition with two discs of extras, a commentary, DTS, the original stereo mix (for the first movie), the correct aspect ratio, no full-frame side, and better picture quality (for the original, Returns looked perfect).

Considering it's made over $100 million, I'd hardly say it flopped. Also, I keep reading that the DVD is coming out July 29th. Have they switched the release date?

nope im sorry... they officially announced the title today and the release date IS July 29th... i am sorry, but i knew that June 10 was the date being kicked around, sorry for the confusion

This might be a blind buy for me. I love the cover art, the special features and comic book movies. This one looked pretty bad-ass.

I'll be buying this for sure. The budget for the movie was 70 million and the movie has made $100,329,008. I'd say thats not quite a flop. You want to talk about flop. That would be The Core.

I'm talking about both budget and marketing costs. Daredevil cost $70mil to make and $45mil to market, that's $115mil in total. Yeah, it's a flop, but not a big flop.

It's not going to be a flop once the DVD comes out. With rentals and buys it will easily make more than it's budget.

I thought that a movie is considered a flop when it doesn't make twice the amount of money that it cost. So if this cost 70 mil. it's supposed to make 140 mil. And adding the marketing...
It's not a very good business if the movie makes a few million over the movie's cost...
