I woke up all happy to go see Rush Hour 2 this morning. I picked up the paper to look at showtimes and find that none of the Regal Cinemas theaters are carrying the movie. There isnt a General Cinema within an hour of where I live but there are about 12 Regal Cinemas near me. I don't understand this considering that this movie was one of the most anticipated movies this summer. Is anyone else experiencing this where they live or have an answer for what's going on?

Ok, after looking around, I've discovered the problem. In case anyone didn't know or wants to know(I may be the only one who doesn't). Found this on Cinema Confidential.

Regal Cinemas boycotting "Lord of the Rings" and "Rush Hour 2"

The first of the three "Lord of the Rings" movie may not be coming to a theater near you. That is, if Regal Cinemas is the only chain near your house.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Regal Cinemas is boycotting New Line Cinema by not showing New Line's upcoming major releases, "Rush Hour 2" and "The Fellowship of the Ring" in its theaters.

New Line Cinema is joining the growing list of distributors who seek to negotiate "firm terms" on film rentals before a movie is released. The paper says the strongest opposition is coming from the nation's largest circuit, Regal Cinemas, which will refuse to screen New Line's upcoming releases "Rush Hour 2" and "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," according to sources outside the company.

If they're that dumb (because both of those movies should be blockbusters) then screw'em. It's their own greed that's doing it.

I have heard about this kind of thing before, and have read about this case, and for this chain not to show LOTR is suicide.
