Has anybody seen this? It's about a group of hikers who are hiking(:P) and they're attacked by a whole bunch of different animals.

Ive got it in my collection. Its a good animals gone amok film by the same director of Grizzly. Leslie Neilson has one of his last villain roles in this film. Christopher and Linda Day George are excellent as usual. I liked the fact that you had all kinds of different animals attacking the people rather than 1 type.

Thanks for replying. :)

Is it good? Are there any cheesy effects or are they all good?

The effects are similiar to Grizzly. Its a really good film. i don't think thers any cheezy stuff in it. Its Grizzly, the Birds, Willard, Rattlers, The Pack all rolled up into one.

I guess this will date me somewhat, but I remember as a kid when this movie came on TV for the first time. Way back in the mid to late seventies.

WOW!!! That brings back some memories. I think it was ABC that carried it.

Great little film from the late William Girdler who also gave us Grizzly and The Manitou .
I saw it at the cinema as part of a great double bill with The Car .
I even had the double bill poster on my wall for a few years .
Lots of fun .

Yeah I own it as well. Its the typical seventies animals run on the loose film but as mentioned it incorporates many animal attacks including eagles, cougars, bears, among others. Nelison does some over the top acting as Jensen but the role called for it as he starts to lose it. I like the warning at the beginning of the movie that warns the viewer what could possibly happen if mankind contines to abuse the ozone layer.
Hey CUSHING do you still have that poster? It will be quite a collectors item. I'd like to see a big screen showing of Day of the Animals.

Yes , I've still got the poster . It's got great artwork for both films and it was one of my favourite double bills EVER closely followed by The Funhouse and My Bloody Valentine ( got that poster to ) ............ah , those were the days .

Just a side note, Day of the Animals is also known as Something is Out There (least that is what my copy is called..hehe)
I happened to watch this the other night to pass the time and agree with what everyone said - take all the other animal flicks (Grizzly, Birds, The Pack, etc) and mix it together and you get this movie. However serious Leslie Nielson is always cool (think Prom Night)
