I just rented this movie and I haven't watched it yet. But has anyone else seen this? It looks cheesy and stuff, but I dunno. I love ALL horror flicks. And since I've been listening to the song 'Scarecrow Man' by the Misfits... I figured I was in the mood to watch this.
Anyways, anyone else here seen it?

Kinda boring in some places, but it's really cheesy. Having said that, some of the killings are pretty cool. ;)

Pretty damn weak...and boring.Christi Harris is the best thing about it,shame,scarecrows never have really been used too effectively.

ahh, it was okay.. I was shocked to see that guy from Newsradio in it.. he always cracks the fuck outta me. Definitely worth the watch.. pretty creative kills, a neato monster..

and If I remember correctly, there's a GREAT one liner that goes something along the lines of

"eat gasoline, scarecrow.."


vtdave.. this flick is not at ALL hard to find.. I've seen it at quite a few video shops... Its pretty recent, too.. 96', mabye..

I own it and I consider this movie as a slasher so I had to own it.
It was not too bad I would give 5/10 maybe 6/10 but not more.

Night of the Scarecrow is trash, but it's enjoyable trash. Gratuitous nudity, bountiful gore, and your typical "small town with a horrifying secret" plotline. Fun times if you're not in the mood for...quality.

Is this Dark Night of the Scarecrow with the townspeople who kill the "slow" guy? If so then I saw it when I was like eight years old. Don't remember much else about it. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Nope, Dark Night of the Scarecrow is a different film altogether, a film that cries out for a DVD release.

Yeah, pretty good orgy scene at that. Kinda stands out though in this movie because the rest of it is pretty tame. Oh well, I thought it was kinda dumb and the script was horrendous.

Got it confused with Scarecrows, which is what I really want to see.

Own it, like it but it wasn't director Jeff Burr's best. Thought Leatherface - Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part III is his best.

Orgy scene in Night of the Scarecrow?!! You're shitting me, right? Either that, or my memory is playing yet another trick on me. No way! Orgy scene? Naah, forget it. Seriously, can anyone refresh my memory? As for the movie itself, good stuff, good kills, and most importantly, Peter Jason, one of Carpenter's regulars! Need I say he kicks ass?

There must be alternate cuts of this flick. I swear to Satan that it contains an orgy sequence. It takes place during the explanatory flashback.

Scarecrows is great. Night of the Scarecrow I've seen a bit of, and it sucked, but I haven't seen the whole thing.

Scarecrows (1988), though was really cool, seriously. Very effective and creepy. More people should check that one out.

The version of Night of the Scarecrow I rented has a flashback scene where the priest is explaining to that girl and her boyfriend in the motel room the history of the warlock and how the town became cursed. During the flashback scenes there is a pretty long segment showing an orgy and it's pretty graphic, considering the rest of the movie is fairly tame, as I stated above.

There may be edited versions out there for those who didn't see this part in their version.

Oops sorry now I remember there is effectively an orgy scene even if it very short ( what not more than 20 seconds ) and it was during a flashback scene.

the version I saw kept going back to it over and over during the priest's story and showing some pretty good shots of titties and some pretty fair grinding going on. It was much longer all together than 20 seconds.

But you know how they release different versions of these things. I remember renting Dead Alive in a Blockbuster and every scene had been cut!!

I love this cheese-fest! I hope they release a DVD at some point.
I don't care if it's bare bones, I would just like to see a nice transfer on a DVD.

very silly film, the scarecrow looked retarded and i couldn't help but laugh whenever it talked. the acting isn't very good and it was pretty boring at times. definitely the lesser of the few killer scarecrow films that i've seen

although that could just all be down to seeing a stupid fucking german dubbed version :p

Oh God, I have seen that sorry assed flick years ago when I rented it from Cock-Block Buster and it was a pile of steaming festering dog vomit. The orgy scene??? If watching the fat Amish women having sex is your thing, then this turd monkey will do the trick....:rolleyes:

Speaking of Cack Busters, I was reminded of an episode of 'the Sopranos'. Christopher is going on about his dreams to make movies, commenting that "every time strolls into a 'Block Buster' he gets high from the smell in those places".

I know what he is talking about, because it seemed that every damned shop I had been in the chain always had this very distinct "funky odor"...;) Is it the same in the UK?? :confused:

I only go to Blockbastard to buy used DVD's. I've found a few decent films there, but I would never rent anything.
