You wanted it, you got it. For weeks, fans have been asking on the Bulletin Boards for a new Official FANGORIA T-shirt, and we listened. Debuting May 24 at the Burbank Weekend of Horrors convention is the gruesome shirt above, designed by former GOREZONE columnist Chas. Balun and brought to you by the wicked geniuses at Rotten Cotton.
“When we decided to bring back the Fango T’s, the first company I thought of was Rotten Cotton, as their work is sensational and they are longtime Fango advertisers and supporters,” editor Tony Timpone says. “The fact that Chas. has designed the shirt is the bloody icing on the cake. It’s a great way to have him back in the Fango fold.”
“I was raised on FANGORIA,” says Rotten Cotton boss Shawn Lewis. “I have the fondest memory of my teacher confiscating issue #8 during math class. It took a parent-teacher conference to get my issue back. Luckily, my parents supported my horror addiction. Or how about the time I accidentally spilled my drink in Tony’s lap in the bar at the ’96 Weekend of Horrors… Well, I guess Tony forgave that little mishap, because he contacted me to do the official Fango T-shirt, and of course I jumped at the chance. My goal is to make the kind of shirt that I would have killed for back when I was a kid, yet still make it cool for the slightly older horror crowd like myself. Created by the fans for the fans, we guarantee this shirt is gonna rock!” Adds Balun, “This Fango T will be fun and tres cool.”
Besides Weekend conventions, the FANGORIA T-shirt will also be for sale at the on-line Gore Store and in FANGORIA #224, on sale June 17.
Delicious!
