Collector's Edition

Has anyone noticed that just about every DVD that comes out is a "collectors edition" or a "special edition"? I mean, come on, what the hell is the difference. If there's only 1 version of a movie, what's so special about it?

Maybe its been remastered
and also it means they have speical features on which make it special and suitable for collectors or people who like that film

I mean goddamn why are you being so fussy its a special edition DVD .. ie its special because its got extras or its been remastered
