Does anyone else like this horror/thriller film starring Robert DeNiro? I thought it was an intense film with DeNiro creating a character perfect for the horror community.

I thought this was a pretty good movie. I didn't care for Jennifer Jason Leigh as the actress, but then again I don't care for her in any of her roles ;) The plot was good and DeNiro did an excellent job.

Juliette Lewis, perhaps? She plays the daughter(and was nominated for an Oscar for her work in this film.)

Ah yes - thats her. She's the one I dont like. Now who the hell is Jennifer Jason Leigh again?
This was a pretty good film.
I must say, though, the only thing I didn't like about it was De Niro's Max Cady, who was a bit too Freddy Krueger-ish for my taste. He should've been more like Mitchum's Cady or Malkovich's character in In the Line of Fire.
Otherwise, this is a terrific film!

After watching this again recently, I have to say I was rooting more for DeNiro to win more than any of the other characters. I despised Nolte and Jessica Lange, hated the Private Investigator, and if Julliette Lewis was my daughter, she'd be grounded for life!
I really used to think I liked this movie, but now, I have come to realize I dont like it. Wierd how that happened after a few years.

It was a good effort. I wasn't blown away by it, but DeNiro, once again, is brilliant. A pretty good mainstream Scorsese film.

Ah give him a break, he can't do everything at once, otherwise there'd be nothing left for us to read!
I didn't really think this one was a classic compared to the original.
De Niro couldn't wipe Mitchum's ass as Max Cady. He was too intense, whereas Mitchum had that mysteriousness about him. You knew De Niro could do harm, whereas Mitchum had more of a "just how dangerous IS he" thing going on.

I never saw the original but I thought that De niro played the part perfectly.
